Most Boring Blog Entry To Date (a.k.a. My Weekend)

Friday:
Lenka spent the night at Angie’s parents so it was date night. We wanted to go to Cheeseburger & Paradise for dinner since we’ve never been there before, but the wait was 55 minutes. We ended up heading off to Pepper Jack’s. It was another place we’d never been and we will definitely be going back. We each had the Philly steak. After wards we went to Cold Stone Creamery. We sat outside eating our ice cream while calling Angie’s parents to check on the little one. After that we headed home and watched “The Pink Panther”. It was the Steve Martian version so it wasn’t as good as the Peter Sellers version. After that, I watched “The Hills Have Eyes”. It was an excellent film. Very gory and the scenes with the baby really got to me. I recommend it. I rented it because I’m intrigued by modern day horror movies and also it starred Vinessa Shaw. I had a thing for her when she was in the soccer movie “Ladybugs”. She also played Nicole in “40 Days and 40 Nights”

Saturday:
Angie had to work. I relaxed most of the day. When Angie got off work, we headed off to Target to pick up some stuff. Angie is re-decorating the guest bathroom in ducks. It was dolphins. After Target we were off to her sisters for a grill out. Her sister, April, is starting to eat meat again after being a vegetarian for almost 3 years. Not by choice, but because of her doctor’s orders. Angie’s parents were also there and we picked up Lenka. When we got home we put Lenka to bed and I stayed up to watch “Man On The Moon”. After that I went to the office to work more on RMP’s next film project. After sending the updated version to Chad, I went to bed.

Sunday:
This was Daddy/Daughter Day. Lenka and I played most of the day and even took a nap together. At about 4pm Lenka and I headed over to the Koch’s to work on the RMP DVD’s with Adam and Chad. Eventually Angie came over and took Lenka. After leaving the Koch’s, we went to the grocery store before heading home. The night ended with us playing with Lenka, giving her a bath, and then watching the newest episode of “Entourage”. *NOTE – “Entourage – Season One” is located on my birthday list.

Coming up in the next week is more work with RMP, the movie premiere, and more time with Angie and Lenka. Also, I’m turning 29 next week.

Fresh Meat: The Return

On October 6th, 2006, former K-92 DJ Fresh Meat will be returning for K-92's 35th anniversary and reunion.

From January 1997 to May 2000 the radio DJ, Fresh Meat, was heard on Wayne State College’s campus radio station K-92. While at K-92, Fresh Meat was the host of three specialty shows: The Feature Presentation (music from the movies), Dial Tone (music from the 80’s), and Heart To Heart (talk show and love songs). Fresh Meat won three Golden Leaf Awards for his performance on K-92.

The rumor is that past DJ’s returning will get air time. Also returning is Fresh Meat’s former co-host of Heart To Heart, and current wife and mother of his child, Angel.

It Is An End Of An Era

Saturday night I trekked on down to my local multiplex with my fellow RMPer’s, Chad and Adam, to catch the newest film to come out of the View Askew Universe. “Clerks II”, written and directed by Kevin Smith, is a sequel to the 1994 smash, “Clerks”. The original film is by far my favorite movie of all time. It was a very low budget film, just over $27K, and toured the independent film festival circuit. I saw the film for the first time in 1996. The movie blew me away. It was probably the film that got me interested in movies and would eventually get me interested in writing, directing, and producing my own films with the help of Chad and Adam. Since “Clerks”, Kevin Smith went on to make 4 other flicks focusing on the characters from his View Askew Universe. With his 6th View Askew Universe film, “Clerks II”, it comes full circle with the characters that he started with 12 years earlier.

The best thing about Kevin Smith’s movies is that in some way I’m able to relate to them all. Well I can’t say that I’ve ever been in love with a lesbian, but I’ve been in the situation where I’ve had to choose my girlfriend or my friends. (No, a three some never came up) Even Smith’s only film that is out of the View Askew Universe, “Jersey Girl”, is one of my favorites because if focuses on the relationship between a father and his daughter. What I took away from “Clerks II” is the fact that sometimes you may feel that life has just passed you by the older you get. I’m going to be 29 in two weeks, meaning next year I won’t be considered young any more. Without giving it away, the answer to the question that it brought up was you have to do what makes you happy. Don’t do something because just because it is what everybody else is doing or thinks you should do. It got me thinking, the definition of a great movie. Where I hope this thinking takes me is for another time. The fact is that “Clerks II” is a great film and a great bookend to a great set of movies that I can watch over and over again.

Next up for Smith, so I hear, is possibly a horror movie? That is the news from his website, http://www.viewaskew.com/. I know he was planning on doing a Fletch movie, staring Zach Braff as Fletch, but if I’m not mistaken his script was rejected. This also caused Braff to leave the project. He also was in the works to do the super hero film, “Ranger Danger”. This was teased in “Clerks II”. (Randal’s T-shirt) Who knows, but you can guarantee that I’ll be there when his next flick does come out.

My August

This will be a very busy month. In one week I've almost booked my entire month of August.

-I'm having my 10 year high school reunion at the end of the month. Angie and I are heading off to Lincoln to see some of my old classmates. We are skipping the tour of the school, Lincoln Northeast, and just going to the reception. We might go to a family picnic put on by the reunion committee, but we'll have to check our schedules.

-Also this month is the movie premiere for the cast and crew of the film "Bert". I play Officer Smith in the film which was written and directed by Omaha native Scott Beehner. The film might be taking a trip to the Sundance Film Festival next year. I've been looking forward to this flick for awhile.

-Also this month will be more work with RoomMate Productions. There are a lot of people waiting for their DVDs. RMP's Chad and Adam are also busy this month, so we'll have to see how much we'll get done.

-Taking a look at this weekend, besides the RMP work, I'm going to be finishing up a script I've been working on for awhile. I can't wait to get it done. It is definitely something I feel close to and maybe someday it will go into production. I'm also hoping to meet with Bob and Lou about getting a copy of their latest DVD. They are busy with the Extreme Film Festival II. Also, and this sounds lazy, I want to get some TV watched. While in Colorado last weekend, Angie bought me the first season of "The Incredible Hulk". I'm also working my way through season one of "Smallville" and the second season of "Tru Calling".

So that is what will be keeping me busy this month. I'm also going to continue working on my second script that is currently in the outlining stage. Plus, I have to remember that I'm turning 29 this month.

Where've You Been?

That is the question....

I've been a little busy lately with the new addition to the family and my work situation, but things are starting to get a little better. The job thing is starting to work itself out since that it getting better; time with Lenka (my daughter) is getting better. I'm starting to work back into my schedule three big things that have been missing lately: working out, acting, and RoomMate Productions. We'll see how long it takes before I'm on a normal schedule again.

Things I want to get started on for next month:

-Working out. I've got a membership at Gold's Gym that I use to use almost everyday, but lately have been denying.

-RoomMate Productions. Getting two new DVD's out by the end of the summer was the goal and I hope to still stick to that. Also, since this was the summer to take off from filmmaking, possibly preparing a new flick for next summer might be in the works. Who knows.

-Acting. Since Lenka was born I've turned down three acting jobs and a couple of auditions. For some reason I don't feel too bad about it. Kids will do that to you; family becomes the only thing that matters in your life. But so I can do what I believe I was meant to do, I want to get back into it. Now I just have a new reason to succeed.

-Daddy/Daughter Day. This has become almost a weekly thing. I love spending time with Lenka. It's great going out as a family, but I also love going out when it is just the two of us. I want to keep this going because this not only gives us some bonding time, it gives Angie time by herself to relax.

Staying At TPG

- Starting May 25th my new title at TPG will be Operations Coordinator. I’m going to be in charge of scheduling all of the sessions our over 60 Performance Analysts do. I will be in charge of any session changes, rescheduling, and time off. It is a very stressful job and staying on top of everything is a must. The best thing about the job is that I got a big raise for taking the job. For the past two weeks things were looking bleak, but now things are looking like they did before. Actually they are a little better.

- Lenka, my daughter, is doing great. She was a little sick when we brought her home from the hospital last week, but she is recovering very well. Right now Angie and I are getting her on a sleeping schedule. Monday night she was up for most of the night because she slept so much in the evening. Last night we kept her awake, against my best judgment, and she slept great through the night; only getting up once for at the most an hour. That is where we want her for now. So thanks to my wife, she got good sleep last night. Also, we are feeding her from the bottle. This means I get to feed her, which I love to do. This way I don’t feel like I’m just sitting there doing nothing while my wife does all of the work. So Angie has been doing a lot of “pumping” lately to make sure there are a lot of bottles ready to go. Tonight I’m going to get a schedule set up with Angie so she can take an evening off from Lenka. She can go out with friends, sleep, or whatever while I watch the baby. Right now I try to take care of Lenka in the evenings when I get home from work. It is great daddy/daughter bonding time. It’s hard work, but I’m up for it.

- This weekend is my friend Zy’s wedding in Lincoln. I’ll be going and hopefully Angie and Lenka will come too. I want to show off my daughter to my high school friends. I’m also going to be hitting the gym the rest of this week. Things aren’t back to where they use to be before the baby, but they are getting there.

A Lot Since May 2nd

-A lot has happened since May 2nd. The main thing is that my wife and I are proud parents of a baby girl. Her name is Lenka Johannah Dwight. She was a big girl, 8lbs 8oz.; she also measured at 20 inches. She was born on Monday May 8th and by the 11th there were already health problems. There were a few trips to the hospital, but she is starting to get better. I’m still getting use to getting up at 2am for the feedings, but she is starting to get on a schedule so I should be thankful for that. Maybe by this time next month she’ll have her first full night of sleep. That would be nice.

-Now my goal is to get back on track with the projects that I had going before Lenka arrived. (easier said than done) I’m working on the documentary and Chad and I are working on getting the DVD for “Kitty Cats & Exit Signs” and “Laundromat”/”Silence” put together. I’m also going on a lot of auditions as of late. It is always good when that happens. One could be big, we’ll have to wait and see though. I’m also getting back on a work out schedule.

-Finally, things could be changing at my job. Once I know, I’ll be sure to pass it on.

Let's Get Ready To Rumble!

-By the end of the summer I will have made my in ring debut as a professional wrestler. (Sort of) The documentary I’m working on requires me to step into the ring and challenge another pro wrestler to a match. It should be interesting. I don’t plan on pursuing the career of a pro wrestler, but for the sake of the documentary I will get into the ring. Also because I’m a big fan, it’ll be huge rush. Let’s just hope I don’t break any bones. (www.myspace.com/iwbapw)

-I’m starting to get a little impatient. The baby is due any day now; we’ve been saying that for about two weeks. Because of that we have rushed to put the nursery together to make sure everything is set when the new addition gets here. Well…where is he/she? Everyday I tell Angie to have the baby, but so far nothing. The due date is less than 2 weeks away, but the kid will be huge by then. We have another doctor appointment on Thursday, we’ll see what happens.

-The same day the baby is due my best man, Jesse Snyder, is getting married. Jesse and I have been friends since the sixth grade. After our first year of college, we drifted apart. I so hope I can make it to his wedding in Lincoln. The only thing that would keep me away is if the baby were to come on schedule. The next Saturday another good friend of mine, Zy Pajnigar, is getting married. I’ve known Zy since fifth grade. We met while playing YMCA basketball. I know I’ll be able to go to his wedding. In high school there was a group of us that all hung out and cruised “O Street” every Friday and Saturday night. It was Jesse, Zy, Dennis, Chris, Mo, Motz, and myself. The seven of us also had an improve show on Cable Access. I’m the only one who continued acting after high school. I can’t wait to get together with the gang again. If for some reason I can’t get to either of those weddings, later this summer is my 10 year reunion. I know they’ll be there. Ten years ago I graduated from Lincoln Northeast High School; my how time flies.

I'm Back, But I'm Out

After an absence of blogging, I’m back to explain why. TPG Telemanagment, my place of employment, made cut backs and has eliminated departments. This includes my department. Last Monday I was a Project Coordinator with a pay raise and in transition to be promoted to an Account Manager. The next day I was demoted to a Performance Analyst, which included a huge pay cut and being put in the position where I started out in over 3 years ago. I’ve heard of this happening at other businesses, but I’ve never been effected by it. So as a result I’m going to be leaving TPG. Even though the company demoted me and took me out of management because of something they did, I have no hard feelings. I still love this company. I’ve made a list of a few things that what would have happened had I not worked at TPG:

-I never would have met Christi and Adam Koch.
-My wife would have been without one of her best friends
-My wife and I would have been without a God daughter
- I never would have met my friends Brad and Julia Houston
- There would be no film “Kitty Cats & Exit Signs”
- The film “Halfway Point” would have to find a different place to film
- RMP films would be without great actors and friends Jody Olsen, Jim Frawley, and Chris Dowd.

These are just some of the things that my life would have been without. I’ll never forget my time at TPG. But I’m not leaving yet, I still have to find another job.

Who's House? Run's House!

-What a rough weekend. Angie and I are officially homeowners. We moved into our first house this weekend with the help of Angie’s parents, Chad, Adam, Marc, and Christi. Of course Alyssa helped by providing us with the kid entertainment. Two Men and a Truck also helped a lot. They carried the big stuff and also provided the truck so we were able to move everything in only 5 hours. They were worth every penny. Now time to unpack, who knows how long that will take. Next weekend it is time to move the Koch’s. I’ve blocked out my Saturday so I can help. Only two things would prevent me from being there: the baby being born and if our apartment complex wants to do the final walk through that day.

-Speaking of the baby, Angie’s small contractions have been increasing. The baby has also dropped a lot. When we left the doctor’s office last Thursday, she said “I’ll see you next week, or maybe sooner.” I’m still shooting for May 1st though. But just in case I have my cell phone on me all of the time. The only time I’m without it is for a brief moment when I shower after my lunch hour workout. To further prepare for the baby Angie’s dad and I put together the baby’s changing table, the stroller, the high chair, and the pack n’ play. We also found out that the crib was damaged so yesterday we took it back and exchanged it for another one. We also picked up a mattress.

-The Godparents were also named. Angie’s sister April Schaeffer is the Godmother. Angie and her are very close, have been their entire life. She just recently sponsored a friend of hers into the Catholic Church. She is very dedicated to her religion and even though our kid won’t be Catholic, we know that April will be a great spiritual influence. This will be her third Godchild. The Godfather is our friend Chad Bring. I’ve been friends with Chad since we were 17. In college Chad was highly involved with Campus Crusade for Christ and has always been driven by God; his entire family is. When it comes to choosing a religious male influence in our child’s life, Chad is a perfect choice. This will be his second Godchild.

-This week will be an exciting one. Tomorrow I’m going to be meeting with the ADT guy regarding the security system. I also have a meeting at 5pm at Cox Channel 23 regarding the wrestling documentary I’m working on. I’m meeting with the MWA promoter and the people in charge of story lines. I’ll be sure to give an update regarding that at www.myspace.com/iwbapw. On Thursday we have another baby appointment, unless the baby is born before then. Thursday night I have a modeling job. I’ll be at the Western Heritage Museum from about 5:45pm to 8:15pm. Let’s hope the baby isn’t born at that time. I’m also going to be hitting the gym this week. Looking at my week I see 3 maybe 4 times this week.

I'm A Model, You Know What I Mean?

-Another job has come my way; a modeling job. Not sure if I’ll put it on my resume though. My resume is all film, commercial, and theater. (See my resume at my temp website www.ericbdwight.com) I was surprised when my agent called me about this because it is something that I normally don’t do, but I thought what the hell. Today I have to go get measured for a tux.

-There was another trip to the baby doctor yesterday. The baby has officially dropped. It could be any time now. In fact, Angie was feeling some small contractions last night. It prompted us to pack up the bags. We first packed the baby’s bag. We packed some clothes, diapers, pacifiers, etc. Angie also packed her bag. She made sure to pack a change of clothes and slippers. There will be an overnight stay involved so we have to prepare. We also packed the list of names and numbers of people who will be getting a call from me and maybe Angie about the new addition to our family. I sort of packed my bag. I moved a lot of my stuff over to the new house last night so I didn’t have much available. So if she were to go into labor, let’s say…now, we’d be already to go. (I think)

-On the baseball front, my Cubs are a half game out of first, behind Houston. The good news is that they are on a 1 game winning streak so if this continues and Houston looses today, I’ll be very happy. The bad news is that Derrek Lee is out of the line up for 6 weeks with a fractured wrist. Hope they can make it without him. My money team, the Cleveland Indians, is on a two game losing streak. But, they are getting ready to start a series with the Royals who have only won two games this year. I need them to start winning so I can afford an acting class coming up in a couple of months. They might even past the first place White Sox. They are only a game and a half out, but the world champs are on a 5 game winning streak. We’ll just have to wait and see.

-This weekend sees me, and the wife, moving into the new home. Tonight I’ll be taking over small things and preparing for the movers tomorrow morning. At 8:30am, Two Men and a Truck will be at our place ready to move the furniture and the rest of the boxes. I’m also hoping some of my friends will stop by. So far Chad, Adam, and Christi said they would be there. Angie’s parents will also be there to drop off some baby shower stuff. We don’t need that many people; the movers will be doing most of the work. I have to get to bed early tomorrow night because I’ve got a 4am call time for “Hero Alley”. It is the second day of filming and some of my favorite scenes are coming up. So this weekend when I’m not moving or acting, I’ll be sleeping. Let’s just hope that a trip to the delivery room won’t be apart of the agenda.

I've Been Away, But Now I'm Back

-So much has been going on this past week. Probably the biggest news is that the baby could be here, “any day now”. Ever since then I’ve been trying to stay in touch with Angie as much as possible. It’s crazy to think about that any day now I could be meeting my new son or daughter. Also, Adam and Christi Koch bought a new house. That is so cool! I saw some pics online and the place looks awesome. They are also moving closer to our new home; not that lived too far away in the first place. Last I heard they would be moving in at the end of this month. If they are reading this, I want to let them know if they need any help moving that I’ll make myself available. That is unless the baby decides to show up. A lot more happened this week, but I don’t want this entry to get longer than it probably will be.

-This was the weekend when production began on Echo Factory’s “Hero Alley”. I arrived on set at about 3:45am on Saturday morning and didn’t get out of there until Noon. There were some issues that came up on the first day, but it was nothing that Chris, Marc, Bob, Lou, and Chad couldn’t handle. The rest of the cast also did an excellent job. I can’t wait to see the finished product. Call time next weekend is same time on Sunday morning. I can’t wait!

-This week will be even busier that the last. Not only am I on baby alert 24/7, but we are closing on our town home tomorrow afternoon. We also finish up the parenting classes that night. Wednesday will see me making numerous trips back and forth from the apartment to the house with boxes. I’ll also be making a trip out to the Goodwill to make a donation. Thursday we have another baby appointment. Since we are so close, they have gone from monthly to weekly. Saturday morning the movers, and anybody else I can get, will be at the apartment by 8:30am to move the rest of the stuff. By Saturday afternoon we should have everything, not counting cleaning supplies, in our new home. I’ll also be going to bed early on Saturday night because of the 4am Sunday morning call time for filming on “Hero Alley”. I also want to hit Gold’s as much as possible. I see me going only 3 times this week. I’ll have to see if I have time to squeeze in a 4th or 5th day, but it doesn’t look good with all of this moving.

Trying Something New

-On Saturday night I did something that I’ve never done. I went to a hockey game. Not only was this the first hockey game I’d been to, but it was the first game I had seen from start to finish. In fact, I would normally just change the channel if I knew that hockey was coming on. Angie was able to get discounted tickets to the Aksarben Knights from her job, so I thought I’d give the sport a chance. I had a great time. I would definitely go again, but I think I’d make sure to go with someone who knew the rules. There were many times that play would stop and I would have no idea why. The Knights lost, but it was still a good time. There were two fights! We also got to hang out with Brad and Julia Houston for a bit. Brad works with Angie and also got the same deal. It was his first game also. The next sporting event I want to get to is the Omaha Royals. I love baseball, especially live baseball. It is something I’m hoping to share with my son or daughter when they come into this world next month.

-This past weekend was all about me and the wife. Angie and I saw “The Benchwarmers” on Friday night. Not too bad. Some good slapstick and David Spade was funny of course. On Saturday, we went out to lunch and then went to take a look at our new house. The deck is on and the carpet is in. A week from tomorrow we do a walk through and then sign the papers. Saturday night was the game and then we just took it easy later that night. On Sunday we just hung out all day. It was a great, lazy, weekend.

-Speaking of baseball, my teams aren’t doing too badly. My Cubs are 4 and 1 after the first week of the season. I think this will be their year! My money team, the Cleveland Indians, are sitting at 5 and 1. Each year, Angie and I pick a team that we will follow because every time they win we will get $2 to put away as sort of “fun money”. We can use this money however we would like. We do this for football and basketball too. The amount of money for each sport differs because of the number of games during the season. We get bonuses for all-star games, if the team wins the championship, and if the MVP of the year is on our team. This year I have the Indians and she has the Yankees. Should be an exciting year.

-The preparations for the wrestling documentary are going great. MySpace is very popular right now, so of course I set up an account for the documentary. Be sure to check it out: http://www.myspace.com/iwbapw. From now on the updates on the documentary will now be on there.

-This week is going to be busy as always. Tomorrow we are having our second to last child birth class. On Wednesday I’m going to the eye doctor in the morning, working on the documentary in the afternoon, and going to play rehearsal at night. Thursday is a big baby appointment. We are having a doctor recommended second ultrasound. The baby is measuring big so this could move up the due date. On Friday I’ll be going to bed early because we go into production on “Hero Alley” at 4am on Saturday morning. That night I’m off to Carter Lake, IA to see MWA wrestling. They might play a crucial part in the spec video I’m putting together for the documentary.

Not A Way To Start The Day

-I heard some sad news this morning. Chad’s grandfather has passed away. He had been sick for awhile, and today he got his call. Chad’s sister Angie is in town for a visit and I guess it was just a coincidence. It is good that she was in town, this way she wouldn’t have to hear about her grandpa’s death over the phone. Now Chad is like my Angie and I, only one grandparent left. Currently Angie’s grandma is recovering from a fall. She has a pin in her hip. I guess she is doing well considering. My grandpa on the other hand is dating. It is weird to hear about it, but I’m happy for him. It is good to have some companionship. He’s over 80 and it can get a little lonely. My mom is also really happy for him.

-On the lighter side, I’m going to be going to my first hockey game this Saturday night. The Aksarben Knights are in action. I’m looking forward to it, even though I don’t really know the rules. I’m sure I’ll pick it up as the game goes on.

-I’ve added a slide show to my MySpace account. (www.myspace.com/ericdwight) I put up only a few pics. I’ll put up more once we move and when the baby is born. Speaking of the baby, Angie is doing very well. I just talked to her and she said that the heart rate is looking good. Next week we are having our second ultrasound. The reason for the second ultrasound is because the baby is measuring a little ahead of schedule. The date of May 13th may change after next Thursday. When it comes to the house, the tiles are in and the deck is built. Also some of the appliances are installed. We are less than two weeks away. Are we ready to move? No. We have SO much to do.

-The rest of this week and this weekend are looking busy. Two more days at Gold’s of course, as well the hockey game on Saturday night. Packing is what I’ll be doing when I’m not doing anything else. I’m also going to be donating some things as well. I’ve got to keep working on memorizing my lines for “Hero Alley”. Production starts on the 15th of April. I’ll also be working on the wrestling documentary. (Watch for more updates after this weekend) Be sure to keep checking back here for BIG baby news as well.

Wrestling Doc - Blog #1

-Four wrestling companies have been contacted in efforts to get this documentary off the ground. World Wrestling Entertainment, Ohio Valley Wrestling, and Total Non Stop Action Wrestling have been contacted to see if this documentary takes off if they would be interested in allowing our cameras to pay them a visit. Midwest Wrestling Alliance, MWA, was contacted in hopes of allowing our cameras to come in and shoot the spec video. MWA puts on shows at the Chez Paree Social Hall in Carter Lake, IA with the next show April 15th at 7pm. They also broadcast their events on COX Channel 23 Fridays at 9:30pm. The spec video will be shown to investors to help raise the money to get started. Midwest Wrestling Alliance will also hopefully be used in the feature length documentary.

-Next is to contact some people or groups that are, shall we say, anti-pro wrestling. A list is being compiled and then calls will be made and emails sent out to see if they would like to through in their two cents on why they are not fans of this entertainment business. One thing I learned when making a documentary is that you MUST show both sides of the story. (Thanks Jim and Heavy) Lately the best docs out there, “Super Size Me” and “Fahrenheit 9/11”, are mostly one sided. But to hopefully stick to the true meaning of a documentary, I hope to show both sides of the story.

-In other prep news, I’m hitting Gold’s gym 5 days a week. I know I won’t be able to match up to the wrestlers that I meet, but I’m hoping to add humor to this project. I plan on taking a hit from each level of wrestler I encounter. To do this, and not get killed, I have to alter myself as much as possible. Currently I’m 5’10” and 195lbs. My goal is to get down to 180lbs. In the coming weeks I might even post a picture.

Take Me Out To The Ball Game!

-It’s baseball season! I love this time of year. I love baseball; Major League Baseball to be more specific. Angie and I had the opportunity to see the Braves take on the Mets when we were in Atlanta last September. I do like the Braves, but they aren’t my favorite team. I’m a die hard Cub fan. Growing up in my family you have to be. I’m more of a fan of what I consider old school Cubbies: Dawson, Sandberg, Durham, Davis, Moreland, Dunston, and Grace. I’m a fan of all of the players that played during games that were called by Steve Stone and the legendary Harry Carey. Cub fans are different than other fans. Some have compared them to Red Sox fans, only because they have gone so long without a World Series Championship. What makes Cub fans, “different” is that at least the Red Sox have been in the World Series recently. Of course now that they have recently won, I guess that means it is the Cubs turn, right? I’m not holding my breath, but I’ll still cheer them on and say, “This could be their year!” like I do every April.

-We are getting down to crunch time with Baby Dwight. We have another appointment this Thursday; that I will unfortunately miss. This will be the second appointment in a row that I’ve missed. It sucks not going and having Angie go alone, but after this week we have them every Thursday until the baby is born and I plan on going to every one of those. Next week we are getting a second ultrasound. The baby is getting big and this might mean that the date of May 13th might be moved up. This could affect the move into our new home greatly. We can start moving in on the 18th of April, two weeks from today. The clock is ticking on our two huge firsts. (home and baby)

-This week sees more trips to Gold’s. I’ve been going there like crazy and I’m starting to see results. My goal when starting this workout program was to look better and to get into better shape for when my kid arrives. I think I’m doing a great job at that and I plan on continuing this routine. Angie has also said that she might sign up at Gold’s after the kid is born. I’m sure we could get this to fit our soon to be very busy schedule. I’m also working on the wrestling documentary and packing boxes this week.

My Day Job UPDATE

-My day job is getting a lot busier these days. I’m in a “sort of” transition period right now. I work as a Project Coordinator at TPG Telemanagement. I’m slowly being moved up as an Account Manager. The “sort of” comes into place because their may never be an Account Manager position title that comes along with what I’m doing. That would suck because I’m actually loving what I’m doing right now. If this could turn into my full time job, I would be ecstatic. The extra pay would be good too since the baby will be here soon and of course we have house payments now. We’ll have to wait and see what happens.

-On the other side of it, I’m going to be adding another blog entry in addition to these normal entries. I just started working on the documentary that I thought would take me 10 years to get to. The working title is, “I want to be a Professional Wrestler”. I want to shorten it up and to be honest; I’m not going to be actually training to be a professional wrestler. As of now the theme of the flick will be about what these men and women go through to get to the top. Right now I’m in the beginning stages of putting together a 10 minute spec video. (Hot Shops next year?) I’ll be showing it to people who might want to finance the film. I’m looking to raise between 10 and 15K. I’m also going to be applying for a grant. The money would go toward paying the crew, travel, meals, and lodging. So keep an eye for additional blog entries regarding that project. I’m hoping to set up a website dedicated to the doc, but I’ll only do that if the money comes in.

-Soon there will be a meeting with Extreme Films, Leon Micek, and Chad to discuss Extreme Films’ upcoming feature film. We are going to be discussing film treatments. RoomMate Productions has been put on the back burner for now, but should be coming to the fore front soon. We are prepping the DVD’s and getting them ready for the public. “Heros Ally” will be going into production in two weeks. So I’ve got T-14 days to get my lines memorized. “A Love’s Cry To Let Go” continues its rehearsals. I only go on Wednesdays so it doesn’t take up much of my time. June 19th is the big show. Next Wednesday morning I’ll be off to Mutual of Omaha to do another voice over for another one of their training videos. Of course then there is packing for the big move in three weeks and the baby on the way in six weeks. Crazy times.

-This weekend is filled with packing for the move and WrestleMania 22. Angie’s baby shower is tomorrow afternoon. I’ll be hitting Gold’s, going to an audition, and taking care of odds and ends. Tonight is date night for the wife and me. We are going out to dinner and then back to the jammed packed apartment for a movie, “North Country”.

My Weekend At The Festival

-This past weekend I was at the Omaha Film Festival. I was able to see a nice list of movies:
*“Jimmy & Judy” Awesome flick. I loved its originality. I’m surprised it wasn’t an audience favorite.
*“Hoot” A great family flick. Luke Wilson was great. Looking forward for it to hitting the theaters at the beginning of May.
*“The Suicide Note” Great detective flick. The look of the film reminded me of RMP flicks. The surprise ending blew me away.
*“Expiration Date” The best movie of the festival, in my opinion. So good I made sure to purchase a copy. The writer/director of the film really understood indie film.
*“Lenexa, 1 Mile” Not too bad. Made for just under $5 million, didn’t really look too independent. It was a Chris Klein flick so it was still good, but had a Hollywood look to it.
*“Sweet Land” A very beautiful film that was re-shown because it was an audience favorite. I wish I would have caught it during its first showing so I could have talked to the director.

-Last night Angie and I were at the Qwest Center for WWE’s Monday Night Raw. We have been to so many of these it is become routine. It was special this time because Angie is 7.5 months pregnant. The baby was kicking a lot during the loud pyrotechnics. We didn’t sit on the floor this time because of the pregnancy, but it was actually better than normal. We were able to sit down the whole time. Our seats were right next to the floor, next to the monitors for the cameras, so we were still very close. A good time was had by all.

-This week I’m starting pre-production on the presentation film for my documentary. I’ll be sure to give more updates on it as the project develops. If I’m given the go ahead, meaning I’m able to assemble a crew and I have a nice sized budget, I’ll set up a special website that will have pics and constant updates. I’ll have to work a little harder than most filmmakers in my position. I’ll explain more on that later in the week. Sorry.

-This week is again very busy. More prep for the big move. We are meeting with a security guy this week. I’ve never had a security system in my home. I wonder how many times I’ll set it off. We are also meeting with our insurance agent about, well insurance. Angie’s baby shower is on Saturday. I’m also hoping to go to DJ’s Dugout on Sunday for WrestleMania 22. Of course I’ll be hitting Gold’s, play rehearsal and rehearsal for “Hero Ally” this week. Maybe even a script meeting for Extreme Films could occur this weekend.

Attention All Film Freaks!

-I'm really excited for this weekend. It is the weekend of the Omaha Film Festival. There is a list of movies I want to see. There are also some films that I want to see, but will be unable to because of scheduling. It is going to be close, but I want to catch tonight's flick, "Sweet Land". It takes place in Minnesota right after WWI. A man wants to marry a woman who is from Germany. This causes a lot of uproar. It stars John Hurt, Ned Beatty, and Allen Cumming. Also tonight is the party at Michael's in the Old Market. It'll be a late night. The worst news of it all is that I'm going to miss "Mojave Phone Booth". It plays tomorrow night at 6pm. I have play rehearsal for "A Love's Cry To Let Go" from 5-7. On Sunday they are going to be showing audience favorites, I can always hope for a repeat.

-Last night was the meet/great and first read through for "Heros Alley", formally titled "Hostage". I'm looking forward to production. I'm working on developing my character, Dex. The director, Chris, left it wide open for me. I've got plans for what I want to do with this character, attitude and even wardrobe wise. I'm going to run them by him next rehearsal and see what he thinks. We met at the Farmhouse Cafe just off of 84th and Center. The food was really good, I'll have to take the wife there someday.

The site will soon include links to this blog, myspace, my email address, and my agent's email. It will also include a demo reel. I'll probably get started on that once the extra features for the "Kitty Cats & Exit Signs" and "Laundromat"/"Silence" DVD are complete. My plan was to have it up and running by the Omaha Film Festival. I plan on handing out some business cards and I wanted to pimp myself as much as possible. I made some ghetto business cards last night. They aren't the best, but they should do until I can get some more professional ones made. (Hopefully next week)

-I finally went out and rented "Waiting..." What a great movie. Of course I'm going to like it, my favorite flick is "Clerks". The writer/director said "Clerks" was his inspiration. Ryan Reynolds is very funny. I was also surprised by Justin Long. He was good in "Dodgeball" and this was a different type of role for him. Because of this film I'm not sure when I'll be heading off to Applebee's or Friday's again, but it was a good movie anyway. The biggest message I suggest you take away from this movie is to not mess with the people who serve you.

Life Is Going Great...For Now

-Life is going pretty good right now. I'm knee deep in projects which keeps me very busy. I just started rehearsals for a play. It is an original titled, "A Love's Cry To Let Go". It is about African-Americans letting go of the past and living in peace. It is the first time I've been in a play where I'm the only white guy. The first time writer/director, Leeanne, is very passionate about this. It is something that she has always wanted to do. She is always checking with me to make sure I'm comfortable playing my part. I'm in a re-enactment of the past. I play a slave capturer. I'm one of four professional actors in the play so she is looking to us for help when it comes to coaching the other actors. So be sure to mark down June 19th on your calendars, should be a good show. Rehearsals for Echo Factory's short film, "Hostage", are this week. I play Dex in the film and so far I've worked on dissecting the character. I'm gathering my questions together to ask Chris, the director. Finally, I'm going to be doing some voice-overs for Mutual of Omaha. I'm going to be voicing the training videos. So far one day has been scheduled, but more are going to be set up in the future.

-Chad and I, RoomMate Productions, are working on a short script for Extreme Films' upcoming feature that is planned on going into production this summer. I've written the treatment, I just need to get with Chad so we can start on the first draft. Also with RMP, we are working on a re-shoot of one of the scenes for "Kitty Cats & Exit Signs". There are a couple of reasons why we are re-shooting this. One is because it looks boring. It was one of the first scenes we shot and we didn't realize how boring it looked. We now have the opportunity to make it more interesting. Another reason why is because the location of where we shot this was right off of a busy street. So you are constantly hearing cars go by and it is distracting. Our editor, Adam, did all he could to get rid of the car noises, but you can only do so much. Chad and I figured it would be a lot easier just to shoot the scene again. It is a simple scene and shouldn't take long. It will be seen in the DVD which will hopefully be available this summer.

-Yesterday, Angie and I went to Uncle Pete's 90th birthday. (Her great uncle) Pete looked pretty good for 90. There were a lot of people there. I got to meet some of Angie's relatives that I had never met before. It is always fun to do that. I always say that when you marry somebody, you marry their family as well. Their relatives become your relatives. When you think about it, it sounds hectic, but then again so is marriage. It's not easy, but I think after 5 and half years, Angie and I getting pretty good at it. Now it's time to become parents.

-This week is going to be busy. We had a lot of snow today and I'm considering heading home early. Right now it isn’t falling, but the forecast says that it will be on and off this afternoon. I came in yesterday and got some things done, so it shouldn't be an issue me leaving early. Because of the weather I'm skipping my work out today. I was able to get to Gold's 5 days last week and I'll probably get there 4 times this week. Of course there are rehearsals for the play and "Hostage". Also, I'm recording a voice over for Mutual. Also, I’ve got to get the oil changed and pick up the ring I got Angie for Valentine's Day. (Just got around to getting it sized) The week will end me hanging out with a bunch of filmmakers at the Omaha Film Festival. Should be a good time meeting and networking with new people. I also have an audition on Saturday morning. This is for a TV show. If I were to get the job, this would be something that would be filmed here in Omaha, but shown in markets around the Midwest. More on that later.

-Those of you who are close to my wife and I know that we are big wrestling fans. Well this weekend Angie and I had the opportunity to meet two wrestlers at the World of Wheels which was going on at the Quest Center. On Saturday I met one of my favorite wrestlers of all time: Bill Goldberg. I've been a fan of his since '98 when I use to watch WCW while in college. My favorite memory of him is watching him beat Hulk Hogan for the belt. Angie isn't really a fan of his. It was because of Goldberg that Bret Hart, Angie's favorite, had to retire. It was an in ring accident, but I don't think she buys it. So on Saturday I was by myself. I was able to get an autograph, a picture, and even talk a bit with the former champ, who is currently not wrestling but plans to come back soon. On Sunday, both Angie and I went to the Quest to meet WWE's Batista. After meeting him, grabbing an autograph and picture, Angie and I both agreed that this 6'6", 300lbs. monster is very shy. He was quiet and didn't smile too much. We first thought he might be a jerk, but after awhile we realized that he was just introverted. He's a great guy and I'm glad we got to meet him. This just got me more excited and made me work harder to prep for my upcoming project. A documentary I'm working on about what it takes to become a professional wrestler. I hope to someday meet up with these guys again.

-On Sunday Angie and I took a visit out to the house. It isn't built yet and we wanted to see the status. To our surprise the dry wall is completely up. It actually looks like a house now. It is very exciting. Now if it can just make us want to pack. The 18th of April is approaching.

-Last night was the awards ceremony for the Hot Shops Film Festival. RoomMate Productions only got one free pass to the $50 a ticket event. So I decided to let Chad go. Our film, "Silence", was up against 7 other films and awards were given out to the top three films. Sad to say that we went home empty handed. There were a lot of great films there though. The one I liked the best in our category, Red Frog Productions "Bruised", didn't win anything either. That sucked. We should hopefully get our score sheet soon. This way we can see what the judges thought of the film. Big props though go out to Bob and Lou of Extreme Films. Their film, "Shadow Board", took home second place in the horror category. Chad, Adam, and I had a brief cameo in that one. Great job guys!

-Another busy week is on tap. Five trips to Gold's are planned, plus dinner with our friends Ron and Rita Wiley. Chad and I are also planning on going over some RMP stuff on Wednesday night. This Saturday we are meeting up at the home of Marc Longbrake with Emily Pottebaum to re-shoot a scene for "Kitty Cats & Exit Signs". Next week will be even bigger with an audition, an upcoming film meet and greet, a film festival, and of course more RMP stuff.

Busy Weeks Brings Busy Weekends

-This has been a week full of baby events. On Tuesday Angie and I had our first Parenting Class. They use to call these classes Lamaze Classes, but since now they do much more than breathing techniques, they changed the name. Angie and I also met our new baby doctor. His name is Dr. Kaufman and he is located near our new home. Today Angie and I have a baby appointment. Angie is going to be taking a glucose test. This means she has to drink this orange drink, that is known to not taste very good, and she will also be stuck with a big needle. We are also doing a lot of packing this week. Angie has packed 5 boxes so far and they are all stuff for the nursery. We are getting close to only 2 months left and it is starting to show. It is very exciting and I'm looking forward to meeting this kid.

-Last night Chad and I worked on the blooper reel for the "Kitty Cats & Exit Signs" DVD. I can't wait for it to come out. I'm also looking forward for the "Laundromat"/"Silence" DVD to come out. This is a perfect way to let everybody see our flicks. It is also a great way to make some money to go towards entering the films into festivals.

-This looks like to be a busy week. Tonight I'm going to be doing a lot of packing. Tomorrow I'm having my annual review with Carmit. We will be discussing my future with TPG. I don't want to give too much away, but it is looking VERY, VERY promising. More on that later. I also have an audition tomorrow night at Reel People. It is for a stage production. The one thing that attracted me to the audition is that the performances aren't until June. With the baby coming, I'm going to be needed at home mid May. This weekend is going to be filled with working out, going to away parties, waiting in line to meet WWE's Batista and maybe Goldberg, and a massage. I also plan to get a little writing done and to watch some movies.

-The date has been set. Last night, "Jerry" called and told me that our closing date has been set to Tuesday the 18th of April. So on that day Angie and I will be walking through our new home to make sure it is up to our standards. We'll also be paying off the rest of our closing costs. We've already paid half of it which is nice. The next day I have off so I'm hoping to get some boxes moved over. That weekend we are hoping to get as many of our friends together to help move. We plan to get a moving truck so we don't have to have our friends use their own vehicles. Angie won't be helping much though. She will be just weeks away from giving birth. She will be the supervisor and make sure that everything everybody brings in goes to the correct room. I'm also putting her in charge of making sure that everybody gets fed with pizza or something.

-Last night was the Oscars. I do have to say I'm happy with how they turned out. I was rooting for Charlize for best actress, but I'm glad Reese took it home. For best actor, I was pulling for Heath Ledger, but again I'm happy for Philip Seymour Hoffman. He has been good in everything I've seen him in. I haven't seen "Capote", but I hope to soon. For supporting actor, I suppose it's cool for Clooney to win. I never saw "Syriana", but I'm sure it's good. I was hoping either Giamatti or Matt Dillon would win. I think Terrence Howard or even Ryan Phillippe should have been nominated from "Crash" though. For supporting actress, I was hoping that Michelle Williams would take it, mostly because I've never seen Rachel Weisz in "The Constant Gardener". I'll have to check it out next time I hit the video store. When it comes to best pic, "Crash" was the best film of the year and deserved it all the way. I thought "Brokeback Mountain" was great and I thought it would win. When they said "Crash" as the best film, I was blown away. Now I have to get out and make the film apart of the Dwight DVD library. If you haven't seen it, get out there and rent it or better yet buy it. It will make you laugh, cry, and better yet it will make you think. The same goes for "Brokeback Mountain", so check that one out too.

-It was also the weekend to hand out the Razzies. They are the awards for the worst performances of the year. The movie that dominated the Razzies this year was "Dirty Love". It was actually a movie that I liked. But I've been told I like all movies. It was written by, and stars, Jenny McCarthy. The whole film is classic McCarthy humor. That is probably why I liked it. It took home worst picture, worst actress and screenplay for McCarthy, and the director (her ex-husband) took home worst director.

-This was also the weekend of the Hot Shops Film Festival. I was there on Friday night and Saturday afternoon. Chad, Adam, and I had our film, "Silence" in the festival. They were having difficulties with their showings and some were skipping, or just not playing at all. Our film was one of the casualties. It played for a couple of minutes then skipped to the next film. Some were upset with this, but I thought it was funny. I knew that it would show more than once during the week long festival. Plus I wasn't there to see my own film; I was there to see everybody else's films. I've already seen mine already. That is why I love film festivals. I want to see others' work. If I wanted to see my own, I would just stay home and watch it over and over again. The judges have seen the film and that's what matters. I do have to say though that if the time that it skipped would be the only time that people would be able to see it, or I brought family in to see it, I would feel differently. Then again, this is just my opinion on what happened.

-Friday night I also caught "Hostel". It was actually better than I thought. The plot was good, very unique. It wasn't really scary. It was gross and it also had a lot of naked women. But what are you going to do. I forced myself to watch it anyway. (hahaha)

I'm Addicted

-“Dog, The Bounty Hunter”. For some reason I love this show. If you've never seen the program, it is a reality show on A&E (Tues. at 9pm EST) that follows a group of bounty hunters (bail bondsman) lead by Duane Chapman aka "Dog". Dog works with his wife Beth, his son Leland, his brother Tim, and his nephew Justin. Dog is a very spiritual man who lives in Hawaii. He puts God and family first in his life. I thought it was a show like "Cops", but then I watched it and it was a lot more personal. It is funny and very smart. On a side note, a movie just came out on DVD called "Domino". Keira Knightly plays Domino Harvey, a bounty hunter. I can't wait to see it now that I know more about the bail bondsman job. Well I wanted to see it before but that was just because Keira Knightly was in it.

-So Wednesdays are my day off. Since RoomMate Production work is slowing down, I thought I'd head off to Westwood to catch a flick. Didn't quite work out that way. Instead I spent the day going all over town running errands and going to Gold's. One of those errands was a trip to Babies R Us to pick up the ottoman we ordered for the chair in the baby's room. Now that RMP stuff is slowing down, it is being replaced with baby stuff.

-Last night Chad and I worked on the blooper reel again for "Kitty Cats & Exit Signs". It is looking really good and I might be able to complete it as soon as a song is chosen to serve as the soundtrack. I can't wait for the cast to see it. It really shows how much fun we all had filming this feature film.

-Finally, Extreme Films is going to be doing a feature film this summer. Without giving too much away, their film will be broken down into a few stories and the stories will all connect some how. They have asked Chad and I to write a story or two that could be added to the film. I'm so pumped about it. Yesterday, while doing laundry, I wrote out four different treatments that we could start from. Should be fun. Hopefully there will be a spot open in this film somewhere for me to do some acting as well. More on that later.

RAW is Dwight

-After discussing it in depth, Angie and I decided to get tickets to WWE RAW which will be in Omaha on March 27th. It could be a big one since it is the RAW before WrestleMania 22. Usually the events before a PPV are not the best. We'll see how this one looks. We did have to make a sacrifice. When March 27th comes around Angie will be very, very pregnant. We decided to take seats that are not on the main floor. We got seats that are in the bleachers so we'll be able to sit through the event. Another wrestling event that is coming up that we are looking forward to is on March 12th. The World of Wheels is coming back to Omaha and usually they have an autograph session with a WWE wrestler. Last year it was Lita and this year it will be Batista. I know I plan on heading off to the Quest Center, but not sure if Angie will be making the trek. She wants to, so we'll have to see about that.

-This weekend was a very relaxing. On Saturday Angie and I went to the circus. It wasn't as great as past years, but it was still good. We plan on taking a few years off because of the kid. We'll wait until the kid is ready to go before we head off to the circus again. After the circus I headed off to Marc's to work on the call backs for one character of "Hostage". The part of Jazz has been difficult to cast, so there were 3 women coming back to audition. At the end of the night there was a decision made and it should make for a great production. I'm looking forward to rehearsals to start next month. Emily Pottebaum (also knows as Emily Ringling or Kara from "Halfway Point") stopped by on Saturday night to meet with Echo Factory. She has said she will jump on board as a crew member to help get "Hostage" off the ground. She is also taking part in a re-shoot planned for "Kitty Cats & Exit Signs".

-I caught three films this weekend as well. Friday night I saw "King Kong" with Chad. It was still really good, but there were some audio issues that kind of took me out of it now and then. But I still think it is a great movie and I'll probably be getting that one on DVD. I also rented a couple movies. Angie and I watched "Going Down" on Saturday night. It wasn't too bad. It looked like it would have been fun to film the movie more than it was to watch. On Sunday I watched "Hustle & Flow". It is a very inspirational movie. I do think everybody would see it that way. It is about a pimp who is in his 30's and realizes that he has lost touch with his dream of being a rapper. He decides to go after that dream. I thought it was a very good flick and I can see why Terrance Howard is up for an Oscar for his role, but I liked him better in "Crash".

-This week is starting to fill up. I'm going to be working on RMP stuff this week. I'm going to be capturing footage for the Blooper Reels for "Kitty Cats & Exit Signs" and "Laundromat". It should be fun though because the footage that was time coded is very funny. I might also head down to Westwood on Wednesday to catch either "The Producers" or "Harry Potter". I know I'll be at Westwood this Friday to watch the entries for the Hot Shops Film Festival, which includes RMP's "Silence". Also a film I was in, "Shadow Board" and a music video I was in are also playing. Last week I went to Gold's 5 days; I'm hoping to do that again this week. Plus, the Oscars are this Sunday so I’m planning on spending Sunday night in front of the TV.

Let's Go To The Movies

-Now that the RMP Film Festival II is over, there are some things that I want to do. One of them is to watch more movies. There are two movies that are showing at Westwood Cinema ($2 Theater) starting on Friday. "King Kong" is a movie when I saw it the first time I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. The movie blew me away. I want to see it in the theater again. I'm not sure that the DVD will be as exciting so I want to make sure I can experience all of the action one more time. Also the film "A New World" is premiering there tomorrow. I heard some bad press about it, but I want to make up my own mind. Plus I like period pieces. Next week a film will be showing there that I've been waiting for awhile to see. On March 3rd "Hostel" will be showing. I'm starting to get into horror movies and I hear that "Hostel" is currently one of the best.

-Yesterday I had a meeting with my agent, Manya Nogg. She wanted to talk about some upcoming projects. She wanted to know if I might be interested in taking part in Theater To Go. They are looking for some stand up comedians and I've been thinking about putting a set together and going to an open mic night. This gives me an excuse to take it off the back burner. I'm looking forward to work on that. Also she mentioned how much she liked RoomMate Productions' "Kitty Cats & Exit Signs". She had a recommendation on where to take the film. It is a direction that Chad and I never would have thought of. More details on that if we decide to go that way. This week I plan on submitting "KC&ES", "Laundromat", and "Silence" to film festivals.

-This weekend is going to be a busy one. I'm taking Angie to the circus. It is part of her Valentine's Day gift. I took her last year and she loved it. It reminds me when my parents use to take all of us to the circus when I was younger. I'm looking forward to taking my kid to the circus some day. Also I'm looking forward to taking them to the zoo. I should be able to start that in the summer of 2007. Also, this weekend are the call backs for the role of Jazz in Echo Factory's "Hostage". Since I'm playing the part of Dex in the film, I'm going to be there so the director can see which actress looks best next to me.

-Also, WWE RAW is coming to Omaha. Tickets go on sale this Saturday. Will the Dwights be going? More info on that next week.

The Heat Is On

-My wife is the best at getting what she wants. As some of you know my wife is pregnant, 6 months to be exact. We recently purchased a town home to make room for this addition and we were told we were going to be moving in mid-March. Well it doesn't look like that will be the case. We've been checking out the progress lately and we haven't seen any change. Yesterday we visited "Jerry" to talk to him about how we needed to move in because we currently don't have room in our apartment for a baby. "Jerry" gave us a new date of April 17th; about month before the due date. Well I wasn't sure what else we could do, and then my wife stepped it up. She turned it up a notch by talking about looking at a new place, how we will probably be kicked out of our current place and forced to live on the streets, and then she was on the verge of tears. I watched in amazement how "Jerry" suddenly started to turn red and said he would talk to them and see if he could get a rush on it. None of what Angie said was completely true, but I think it had an effect on old "Jerry". I'm very proud of her, now we'll have to see if it worked.

-On Saturday night I was hanging out with Echo Factory Productions to help cast their latest film, "Hostage". We met for about 5 hours going over tapes from Wednesday's auditions. So many talented actors and actresses came to audition. Some characters it was easy to fill, but some were more difficult. I was lucky enough to be casted as Dex. It is a part that I can relate to. Now is when I'll start memorizing the lines and getting into character. I consider myself a semi-method actor so I like to spend a week or so getting to know the character. I'm going to be coming up with a background of the character and also be asking questions of the writer/director Chris Zech. Should be fun and I'm looking forward to it.

-Yesterday was a day to focus on the baby. Angie and I went to Babies R' Us and purchased some items that the baby will need. We looked at sheets and bumpers for the Dwight Cradle. We also got a mat for the changing table. We also purchased a chair for the baby’s room. Angie sat in it and she was in love. So right now the chair is sitting in our living room in a box waiting for the house to be ready. Our apartment looks like a warehouse of baby stuff. We finished off the day by heading to Crane Coffee for a smoothie. The baby was really kicking so I'm hoping that means it liked the peach smoothie Angie was having.

-Angie and I also caught a movie last night. We rented "The Island" with Ewan McGregor and Scarlett Johansson. Very good flick. I was hesitant because it received a lot of bad press and the director, Michael Bay, blamed the acting for the bad business at the box office. It is a very good movie. If you don't know what it is about, don't look into it. Don't even read the back of the DVD case. Just watch it. You might be a little confused in the beginning, but stay with it. Once you find out what it is about, it will blow you away. Even if you hate it, Miss Johansson is nice to look at. Also according to Angie, "Ewan's got nice eyes".

-This week includes entering RMP's films into festivals and also call backs for Echo Factory's, "Hostage". Also, five trips to Gold's are planned. I might be able to squeeze in a trip on Sunday to make it six. I'm going to be scheduling meetings with Westwood Cinema to see if I can get RMP their movie check and also a very big meeting with my agent, Manya, about some upcoming projects.

-Auditions went good last night. KXVO showed up again. So I'll be on TV (again) but this time with a different production company. Echo Factory got a huge boost last night with the great publicity. I'm still hoping to play Dex. There were some good actors that showed up last night. We are going to be looking at the tape this weekend so we'll see how that turns out. I have some good ideas for the character and I know I can pull it off.

-Last night at auditions besides seeing a lot of friends from former films, I saw a friend from high school. When I hung out with him his name was Izel, but now it is Felix. We met while attending Culler Jr. High. I hadn't seen him in years. He is doing a poetry reading on March 11th in Lincoln. I want to go really bad, but that is also my sister-in-law's 30th birthday. Felix has my number, I hope he calls me soon so I can let him know that I won't be able to make it.

-I have an audition for the play "The Underpants" at the Omaha Playhouse next Monday and Tuesday. I'm not sure what day I'll go, but I'm hoping to do well. If I don't get into that one I'm hoping to do well at the Omaha Playhouse's production of Biloxi Blues.

-My new workout schedule has been going very well. I've increased my trips to Gold's from 3 to 4 times a week to 5 to 6. Yesterday was weights and today I'm doing cardio.

-Angie got me another gift on Valentine's Day. She bought me "Saw II". I can't wait to watch it. I saw it opening weekend with my friend Lou. I'm hoping to get inspired to work on a horror film again. Tonight is Survivor night at the Dwight house and also wrestling night at the same time. Angie and I will probably be getting wings. Who knows when I'll be watching "Saw II". This weekend is filled with meetings with my agent and Echo Factory. Even a couple meetings with RoomMate Productions. Should be a good one.

Onward &Upward

-The RMP Film Festival went off very well. The Saturday night showing was sold out and three of the five showings on Sunday had an excellent attendance. In fact, on Sunday we out sold every other movie in the theater. Not too shabby. The party on Saturday night was great. It was nice hanging out with all of our friends and family. It was also great to hang out with the cast of the films again. We hadn't seen them for awhile and spending time with them in a non-work environment was great. I think that all of Chad, Adam, and my work paid off. Of course we couldn't have done it without Bob, Lou, Jeremy, and Jason. They made it possible for us to focus on telling the stories the best we could. Now it is on to the festivals.

-Since RMP is currently done making films, I'm able to focus on other things. Echo Factory, a new production company, is filming its first short film this spring. I'm looking forward to helping them out. I'm also hoping to help Bob and Lou with their feature film this summer. Hopefully I can help them as much as they've helped me and the other guys. I'm also focusing more on acting. I have two stage auditions coming up really soon. Plus my agent, Manya Nogg of Actors Etc., said that after the premiere she wanted to get together with me. She wants to get me into more of their projects. Manya is close to Alexander Payne. When he films in Nebraska, it is Manya that he goes to for actors. She was casting director for "Citizen Ruth", "Election", and "About Schmitt". She also helped cast Dana Altman's film "Private Public".

-There is still something out there that is bothering me. We still have no closing date on the house. I'm going to talk to "Jerry" tomorrow if there is time. I'm going to try to squeeze a date out of him. Or at least get a better date in mind than mid-March; that doesn't look to be realistic. The baby's due date is getting closer. As I've mentioned before, I love putting my hands on my wife's stomach and feeling the baby kick. Last night I started talking to it again and before I knew it there was a huge kick. It was just him/her saying, "Hi Daddy".

-Finally, I want to talk a little about Valentine's Day. Angie and I have already exchanged gifts and have plans for tonight. She got me unlimited tanning sessions which is something that I'd asked for for Christmas. I love tanning. It is very relaxing. If you've never done it, I suggest it. I got her something she'd been wanting for about six years. Yesterday I swung by Greenberg's and bought her a ruby ring. It isn't just her birth stone and her favorite color, but she use to have a ring like it that was her grandmother's. I didn't have it fitted for her fingers because I knew that since she was in her third trimester that they weren't the same size as they were when I last bought her a ring. The ring only fit her ring finger on her left hand so instead of wearing her wedding band she wore her new ruby. I think this weekend I'll take her in and get it fitted. Tonight we are going to Carrabas (spell?) I'm also taking her to the Circus at the end of the month. Other than that, that is our Valentine's Day 2006; our last without a kid. We'll have to make it memorable.

My Current Stress

-Ticket sales for the RoomMate Productions' Film Festival II is killing me. Westwood Cinema over sold the theater. It was up to Chad and I to clean it up. While cleaning it up, I made some choices that were probably not the best. This stress will only get worse up until show time Saturday night. I'm hoping everything is fine by the after party on Saturday night. I'm not worried about Sunday's ticket sales. But I will be at the theater just in case there is.

-Getting the film ready for presentation is starting to weigh down too. I have complete confidence in Adam. He is good at what he does. I'm trying to not think about this one.

-I'm taking Friday, the 10th, and Monday, the 13th, off of work. I'm trying to make arrangements for my work to get completed while I'm gone. I'm leaving my cell number with all of the people who will be covering for me. I even suggested that I can come in on Monday and get some stuff done. But I'm lucky because I have one of the best supervisors in the world. Her name is Carmit and she is very supportive. She knows how big this weekend is for me and says, and I quote, "don’t think about TPG for a whole 4 days". Easier said than done. I'll probably get her a thank you card.

-I'm also worried about the closing date on the house. There isn't one. We were told in January that we'd know 45 days before and we'd move in mid-March. Well if we were called today with the closing date it would be the end of March. Angie and I went to visit the house and I'm not an expert, but it doesn't look much different then it did back in early January. We don't have room in our little apartment. There will probably be a baby shower soon and we'll probably get a lot stuff from that. We already don't have room for the stuff we have. Also the baby will be here mid-May. If we are still in our apartment at that time, I'm going to feel like a bad parent. I know the kid won't know the difference, but I will.

-In the midst of all of this stress I do have a ray of light; my wife and unborn child. If I want to relax or take my mind of things I just sit on the couch with Angie and put my hand on her stomach. I sometimes talk to her stomach. I know the kid is listening because I feel a kick or two. Maybe they are telling me to shut up, but at least I know that someone is listening. Today we're going to our monthly appointment. That always makes me feel better. I'll take Angie to Amigo's afterwards of course. Can't beat Amigo's tacos.

RMP, A Baby, A Home, And Katherine Heigl

-The baby attacked again. This time it was on Super Bowl Sunday. The game was coming to an end when Angie said that she was starving for TCBY. So as soon as the game was over, and our team didn't win, we took off. We made it back just in time to watch “Gray's Anatomy”. I just started watching this show last week. The reason I started was because of Katherine Heigl. I have to admit, I've had a thing for her since the film "My Father The Hero". Good thing I have a wife who looks past my crushes on celebs. She watched the show with me this time and I think she really liked it. She's got a weak stomach so I wasn't sure if this would be a good show for her. But I think we'll be making it part of our regular shows.

-So the baby will be here in about 3 months. Angie and I were really good about getting our lives ready for this kid to come in and turn everything we are use to upside down. But then something was missing. It was a phone call with the closing date on our new town home. We were told that we would be told 45 days before the closing date. They gave us a time of mid March as to when the closing date would be. Well it's about 40 days outside of mid March and nothing. Angie called the guy, let's call him "Jerry", to get the progress on our home. Well “Jerry” didn't know. So now we are just hoping that the house will be ready by the time the baby gets here. If not, when the kid is born it won't have a room. Not sure what we are going to do about the crib. Let's pray that everything comes together.

-This weekend is going to be huge for RoomMate Productions. It is the second annual RMP Film Festival. We are showing three films: "Silence", "Laundromat", and "Kitty Cats & Exit Signs". It is going to be a very busy week for Chad, Adam, and myself. Tickets are selling fast for the Saturday night showing. We should have at least 200 people there that night. I won't be able to relax until later that night when we are all at Muldoon's Pub. There are 5 more showings on Sunday, but I'm not too worried about those. On Sunday night though Scott Beehner might be coming in from L.A. to see the show; well he is going to be doing other things here in town but while he's here he can catch an RMP flick. He directed me in "Bert" this past summer. I hope he likes what he sees. I'm trying to keep my name in his head just in case he has any other projects coming up.

-Another project I'm working on is starting to take shape. I'm working with Echo Factory on their latest film, "Hostage". I set up auditions at Reel People for Wednesday Feb 15th. There is a part in the film that I would LOVE to play. The character's name is Dex and he reminds me a lot of myself when I was in high school. I could definitely do the part justice. But, if somebody auditions that is better for the part, I will be willing to give it up. I’ll do whatever is best for the film.

The Baby Is A Kickin'!

-Last night Angie and I were relaxing on the couch, coming down from a very busy weekend. She told me that the baby had been kicking all day. She told me to see if I could feel it. So just for fun I put my hand on her stomach. After a little while I felt this HUGE kick. It blew me away! It was the first contact, sort of, I've had with my unborn child. It is so hard to explain the feeling I had. Unless you've felt it before, you'll have no idea what I'm talking about. The kid has about 3.5 months left in the oven before it enters the world. It's time to "daddy up".

-My current baby right now is the RMP Film Festival II. Chad, Adam, and I have been busting our butts to make sure this is going to blow last year's event out of the water. So far we are doing well. Adam is doing all of the audio and visual work and he showed Chad and I a draft Saturday afternoon. We made a party out of by picking up a pizza and sodas. We also bought Adam some alcohol, After Shock, since he has been making "Kitty Cats & Exit Signs" look and sound 100% better than Chad and I ever could. It looked great. I can't wait for the premiere. (T-minus: 2 weeks) Chad and I also went out Sunday afternoon and walked all around downtown Omaha and put up flyers advertising the premiere. Hopefully it will work.

-This week will be a busy one. Tomorrow night Chad and I are off to Adam's. He has done a lot more work on the film and he wants to show us an updated draft. On Wednesday I'm going to be hanging up more flyers. Thursday is the start of a new "Survivor" series. Not sure where Angie and I going to be watching the show. We might be going to the Koch's, who knows. This weekend is a 30th birthday party for a friend from college. We are also dog sitting for our friend Jay.

-Heading of to Gold's is also apart of my by week. I've got a new work out schedule. I'm going over my lunch hours. I come into work a little earlier just in case I need a longer lunch. I can eat my lunch at my cube when I get back, so it works out. I tried it on Friday and it worked great. The rest of the day I was energized and it just flew by. Friday it did weights; today I'm going to do cardio.

It's The Place To Be

-Yesterday was a big day yesterday. It started out early for me. I hit the town of Omaha spreading the word of the RoomMate Productions Film Festival II. On February 11th and 12th Chad, Adam, and I will be premiering our films, "Silence", "Laundromat", and "Kitty Cats & Exit Signs". The big premiere will be on Saturday night and there will be five showings on Sunday. I stopped by the theater to give them an update and I also swung by Muldoon's Pub to set up an after party. They also donated $20 to the raffle that we plan on having before the film. Should be a good night.

-That night Adam, Christi, and Chad met with Angie and I at Julio's for dinner. The service was for some reason very bad. I think the problem was in the kitchen. This also made our waiter, Brandon, look bad. He would say our food was coming out and it wouldn't. I feel sorry for Brandon because I thought he truly thought the food was coming out and then he went back into the kitchen and then for some reason it wasn't ready. I will go back again.

-This will be a very busy weekend for me. I have an audition on Saturday morning at 9am at the Marriot Regency. It is for NE Lottery. This is something that I'm qualified for, but they are looking for people who don't have a full time job. So if I don't get the job because of that, I won't feel too bad. The next audition that is currently planned for me is for the Omaha Playhouse on the 20th of February. Chad and I have more movie stuff to do. We are going to be meeting with Adam about editing and heading down to the Old Market to deliver more flyers. I also plan on working out a couple more times between now and Sunday.

-I'm also trying to watch more movies. I think watching movies helps me be a better actor. I like to learn from others. There are a lot of great films out there that don't make it to Omaha or go straight to video. I recently watched a Jennifer Love Hewitt film called "The Truth About Love". This was a British film and I guess Love's accent was so bad that in post production they dubbed another actress' voice over hers. It took awhile to get use to because it wasn't Love's voice, but in the end it turned out to be an alright romantic comedy. Another film I haven't watched yet that is at home is a movie called "Havoc". It stars Ann Hathaway from the "Princess Diaries". It is definately a different type of movie for her. I'm looking forward to watching it.

MY F*&%ING CAR!

-Well it's not that bad. Two major issues came up on Saturday regarding my Tracker. On Friday night Angie and I noticed that my car was leaking something. It was dark so we couldn't see what color it was. The next morning I took it in and it turned out to be oil. Now that sucked because I didn't want to have to put a lot of money into this vehicle since we'll probably be trading it in this time next year. Turns out the last time I took it in for an oil change, the guy who changed the oil didn't get the cap on tight enough. I had lost a quart of oil so they topped it off for me and then said that my next oil change would be free. Not bad. The second issue was later that day Angie noticed that I had a nail in my tire. So after my work out I went to where I got the tire so they could patch it up. Well it wasn't a nail, it was a screw, and it didn't even go all the way into the tire. But my tire was leaking air because the nozzle on the tire was broken. So they replaced the stem and I was on my way with no charge. All in all if I'm going to have car trouble, I guess I would like it to be that kind of trouble.

-On Saturday afternoon Angie and I had lunch with my cousin Spencer. He is playing in a new band and they were playing at Bushwhackers in Ralston. It was good to see him again. He is graduating from college in May after going to school for 7 years. Angie and I are trying to get him to move to Omaha. Since we'll be here for a bit longer due to Baby Dwight, it would be cool to have him living in town.

-Last night Chad and I were hard at work on RMP Film Festival II. This Wednesday I'm going to be busy dropping off invites and free passes. I'll also be stopping by Q98, Muldoon's, and Westwood Cinema to take care of some other items as well. Also yesterday Chad and I attended a meeting with Echo Factory Productions. It is a brand new production company in town. I'm hoping to work with them not only on the acting side of the production, but a little behind the scenes stuff too.

-This week like I mentioned will be very busy. Besides Wednesday, more work on RMP is scheduled. I'm also going to squeeze in three work outs. One of them will be tonight.

ROAD TRIP

-On Wednesday I hit the road and headed off to Norfolk. I was off to film an industrial video for Nucor. It was the first time I was in one of these. I was the host so there was A LOT of lines to memorize. I think I did a good job though. The production company was Full Effect based out of Sioux City. I had worked with them before and had a good time. The call time was 9am on Thursday morning so I wanted to make sure I was ready to go so I stayed in a Super 8 in Norfolk on Wednesday night. It was good to get back to Norfolk again. I attended Wayne State College, 30 miles east, and a lot of road trips were taken to Norfolk. I even worked in Norfolk while going to school at KNEN-FM. Some of my friends were still working there. I noticed that the mobile DJ service I was manager of wasn't there any more. But other than that, Norfolk hasn't changed.

-It was a Wednesday in Norfolk and I had all of my lines memorized. Since I didn't want to stay in the hotel I thought maybe I'd go catch a movie. I wanted to see a movie that Angie, or anybody I know, wouldn't want to see. One movie came to mind, "Hostel". Then I remembered, the movie theaters are not open on Wednesdays. I forget that movies only run on Thursdays - Sunday. So I ended up staying in my hotel room. I did watch a great documentary on the History Channel about the presidents. History has always been my favorite subject. I hope I can get Angie to Washington D.C. someday soon.

-Tonight Chad and I are going to go over to Adam's to work more on "Kitty Cats & Exit Signs". Tonight hopefully we can add the ending credits. On Wednesday I talked to Curtis from Grasshopper Takeover to get permission to use their song "No Pressure". That brings the total number of songs in the film to 10. I made a soundtrack for Angie to take to work. With the music and the help of Adam and Chad, the film is looking and sounding really good. I'm looking forward to February 11th.

Brokeback Mountain

-On Saturday Angie and I finally saw a movie that I'd been wanting to see for awhile, "Brokeback Mountain". It is being considered the best movie of the year with Heath Ledger the best actor. It was also banned from some theaters in Utah because the homosexual plot. Here in the Midwest it is considered "the gay cowboy movie". After seeing this movie I would have to say that this is one of the best movies I've seen all year. Angie was even crying. I highly recommend it. I wouldn't recommend it to people who are homophobic. They wouldn't be able to go into the movie with an open mind and would miss the great story that is being told. If it doesn't win best picture I'll be surprised, but if Heath Ledger doesn't win best actor I'll be pissed. The guy is amazing in this movie. I think all actors in the Midwest should take advantage of this movie finally coming to our neck of the woods and check it out.

-Angie and I also took care of some house details on Saturday. We picked out the carpet and stuff on Saturday morning. We also ended up going to see the house twice. We took her parents on Saturday morning and her sister and Will on Saturday night. I also told my parents about the house. I was a little nervous. They had planned on me heading off to L.A. in a year or so, but now I'm going to living in Omaha for about 5-7 more years. I explained it to my mom and by the end of the call I think she was very supportive of my decision. I'm not sure about my dad. My mom was even a little hesitant about telling him. We'll see if they still come up from Georgia to see their grandkid this May. My dad hasn't talked to my brother Marty in years because of a stupid fight. Let's pray that doesn't happen to us.

-This is a big week for acting jobs. I'm off to Norfolk on Wednesday because I have a big job on Thursday morning. On Sunday I'm off to meet with a production company that is looking for a cast and crew to help them with their upcoming films. I'm hoping to get a part in one of their projects. I also have an audition for NE Lottery coming up at the end of the month. It is actually for a promotion. I'd go to places where 20 something’s hang out and push NE Lottery. Should be fun, but they are looking for people without a full time job. I'm very qualified for what they are looking for, except the full time job thing, so we'll see what happens.

-Workouts this week include Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and a day this weekend. I went to went to Gold's on Sunday but only did weights. I wanted to make sure I got to Adam's because he and Chad were working on the film. I wanted to make sure I could help with that. The film looks, and sounds, good. I'm getting really excited for the premiere.

Goodbye Rent, Hello House Payment(s)

Well the big news of the day is that the Dwight’s have purchased a town home. Angie and I were cleaning out the office the other day in our apartment when I noticed that we were throwing out personal stuff to make room for the baby that is due mid May. I then turned to her and said, "We need a house". It was hard to come to the decision since the plan was to move to L.A. and not purchase a home in Omaha. It forced me to do some soul searching. Why do I want to be an actor? Is it because I want fortune or fame? Nope. I want to act because I LOVE to do it. Well if that is what makes me an actor, then I've been an actor for about 3 years now. I've been getting jobs regularly. Not enough to go full time at it, but I've been keeping very busy. So I decided that my wife and baby come first and acting comes second. You can act anywhere. The average person lives in a home for about 5 years. After that Angie and I plan to move. To L.A., probably not, but we will move to a bigger city. I want my kid to grow up with culture, where they can experience life. I don't think Omaha can offer the kind of knowledge I want my kids to have. (no offence Omaha parents) But Chicago, Houston, Atlanta, Las Vegas would all be better places for that. Plus the weather here sucks. Who knows where we'll end up next, but the most important thing is that we'll be together.

My Latest Wednesday Adventure

-Yesterday was my 6 month check-up at the dentist. I was a little nervous because my teeth have always been a sore spot for me. (no pun) Turns out the biggest mistake I made was wearing my Hewlett Packard t-shirt. I love the shirt. It was a gift from my wife. What I forgot was that the woman who cleaned my teeth, her husband was part of the many, many layoffs by HP recently. My wife though still works there. This woman really scrapped my front teeth. While I was cringing and on the verge of tears I was thinking, "I really need to take care of my teeth!" After the torture was done, she said that my teeth looked good and I just need to focus on my back teeth a little more. WHAT! I went through hell and my teeth look good? I believe I was punished because my wife still has a job at HP and me wearing this t-shirt was rubbing it in that her husband didn't. I feel sorry for my wife though. Her appointment is coming up soon. Sorry babe.

-After the dentist I went home for lunch and a little recovery time. Then I met Chad at Westwood Cinema so we could figure out the details of the RMP Film Festival II. The festival will be held on February 11th and 12th. (www.roommateproductions.com) It was a great meeting and now Chad and I have the task of promoting the film and getting things ready to go. Adam probably has one of the hardest job because he is cleaning up the sound and audio for us. Good luck Adam, thanks for all of your help! We owe you big!

-I then picked up Angie, the wife, and we took care of some details on a project that I can't mention yet. Tomorrow hopefully I'll be able to let everybody know. Sorry.

-Last night Angie and I also went over to Chad's to work on more premiere stuff. We came up with some more dates of when we will contact who and which one of us will do what. I started it last night and today I continue to work on them. Tonight the plan is to go to the Koch's, after my workout, to work on the film. It is an exciting time, but stressful as well.

The Action Never Stops

-This weekend was a lot of baby prep. Angie and I bought a crib for the little one. We also ordered a changing table. I see myself going to Babies R Us quite a bit. (Never thought I'd say that) We also stopped by the Schaeffer's to show them the video of the ultrasound. Angie and I also did more cleaning to the apartment to make room for this baby that will be here in just a few months.

-It was such a busy weekend with shopping, working out, and other stuff that I didn't watch much TV. Usually I like to catch a little TV on the weekends; it is my way to relax. Saturday Angie and I watched the Patriots defeat the Jags to move on in the NFL Playoffs. After that we caught some UFC matches and watch TNA wrestling. I did have time to squeeze in a movie. I watched "Taking Lives" on HBO. I’ve been looking to rent it for awhile, but never did. It has Angelina Jolie, Ethan Hawke, and Kiefer Sutherland. It was a very good thriller; Angelina was also looking very good. If you like cop movies, then I recommend it.

-This week is going to be a BIG one! One of the biggest I've ever had. I have three workouts scheduled this week and maybe one on Sunday. I have an audition tomorrow night. After three years, I'm going to try to get back into theater. I've been doing film and commercials as of late. I'll be heading to the dentist on Wednesday morning and in the afternoon I'm off to Westwood Cinema to schedule the big movie premiere next month. More editing of "Kitty Cats & Exit Signs" is also planned for possibly Thursday. Next week will be busy as well. Thursday I'm off to Norfolk, Nebraska. I'm shooting a commercial. Not sure what it is for, but the pay is very good. More on that later.

-Finally, a friend of mine lost his father last month. Bob Vranes' dad died on December 18th, he was 63. Bob is co-founder of Extreme Films and he along with Lou Moulton helped film "Kitty Cats & Exit Signs" and "Silence". It is scary because around Christmas last year, my dad came very close to passing away. He had four heart attacks and was bleeding internally. At the time, he was 63. But my dad lived and I thank God for that. Ever since I find myself calling them more. My parents live just outside of Atlanta, Georgia, so I don't see them very often. I'm glad my dad will be alive to see the birth of his 13th grandson. But right now my thoughts and prayers are with Bob and his family.

5 Months Down...4 To Go

-Yesterday was a big day for Angie and I. Angie is 5 months along and it was time for the big ultrasound. We got some great pics of the "kid" and as well as our first home video. My first thought when looking at the video, "We're having an alien!". (just kidding) It was great and I couldn't take my eyes off the screen. Definitely the best film I've seen all year. To bad the "kid" won't be born yet to receive the best actor/actress award. When it came time to find out the sex, we said that, "we'll wait". Just more to look forward to come this May.

-Since I haven't blogged in awhile, I want to talk about my New Year's Eve. Angie and I went to the Koch's where we hung out with Adam and Christi and two other couples. We also hung out with Chad and Asten. (not a couple) Chad left early to go to a local club, "Naughty", but I hear he couldn't get in. Not sure the reason. It was definitely a night that when you were younger you might describe as how your parents bring in the new year. It started at 6pm and ended at 12:05am. A great time was had by all and Adam (sort of) invited everybody back next year.

My goals for 2006:
-Make life easier for my wife and child
-Keep this increase of acting jobs going
-Stay in contact with not only my acting contacts, but family and friends (new and old)

This is all I can think of now. I know for a fact this year will be the biggest in record for the Dwights'. Doors are going to be opened as some windows may close. No matter what happens, they happen for a reason. One thing is for sure, the Dwights will role with it and make it work. (family motto?)

Congrats to my brother Barry and his girlfriend (future wife) Renee on their new arrival. Their daughter Elena Lee Radke-Kiez was born on 12/12 at 3:36pm. I'm sure my other niece/Goddaughter will enjoy having a little sister. Also, my "kid" will now have a cousin in the same age range. Elena makes granddaughter number 12.

Christmas 2K5

-I had a very good weekend; it was Christmas. Saturday Angie and I spent it with her parents. We decided to go to their church, which use to be our church. We arrived about 30 minutes before the service started so we could get a good seat. The place was packed. We went to the 7pm service, which meant the place was packed with kids. In front of us were three little girls and behind us was a little boy. The three girls were cute but then the mom took one of them out because she was saying “puppy” over and over again. Behind us the boy was very well behaved. Then he proceeded to puke all over his mom. (Well his mom caught it so it didn’t go over the floor) It gives us something to look forward to next year. We spent the night at Angie’s parents because we knew that Christmas day would start early.

-Christmas started for me at about 9:30 in the morning. We all had breakfast and then Angie’s dad and I watched “A Christmas Story”. Angie and her mom worked on lunch. At about 1pm April, Angie’s sister, showed up at the house with her dogs, presents, and more food. About 10 minutes later her boyfriend Will and his friend, Jim, showed up. After a great meal we opened presents for three hours. Now normally it wouldn’t take this long but at the Schaeffer house all gifts are open one at a time so everybody can see what you got. The first year I went through this it was a little weird, but now I’m use to it and it is a lot of fun. After everything was opened we ended the night with a game of Texas Hold ‘em. Angie and I were partners. I thought we’d go out first, but because we aren’t that aggressive we were able to stay in longer. We went out second.

-To sum up my Christmas 2005, it was very good. I received a lot of gifts, I had great food, and I was surrounded by family. I even called and talked to my parents. To think back on it I think of the people who don’t have don’t have anything. They don’t have enough to eat or a warm place to go. I make sure I thank God for what I have. This year Angie and I have given a lot to the Salvation Army. We are currently planning on giving more next month. I pray what I have given has helped. I’ll just have to take their word for it.

-I’m doing something now that I’m sure I’m going to get a lot of crap for. Since I need my hair to grow faster I’m taking prenatal vitamins. The vitamins are high in iron which makes your finger nails and hair grow faster. Angie was on these pre getting pregnant. Now I’m on them. I’m not too knowledgeable about these. I know men can take these as well so I don’t feel too bad, but I don’t know a man who has. So feel free to comment on this, whether you’re a man and have taken them or just to make fun of me. It’s cool.

Rydie - Boy

-This week Angie and I were dog sitting for out ex brother-in-law Jay. His dog, Ryder, is such a fun dog to play with. He loves to play with his ball and that is pretty much it. When he isn't playing ball, he is eating, cuddling, or sleeping. If I could have a dog it would be just like him.

-Even though we were at Jay's for a lot of the week, I was able to get to Gold's three times. I went today, Sunday, for a couple of hours. I focused on weight training today. I would say the best day to go to Gold's would be on a Sunday afternoon. The place is almost empty. I usually go after work which is when it is most crowded. Today was a great day. Goal for next week: four. With the holidays coming up I'm going to be tempted with a lot of food. I think I ready. I handled Thanksgiving, bring on Christmas.

-I saw a bunch of movies this week. On Tuesday I rented four movies. I'm an MVP member at Hollywood Video, which allows me to rent three movies at a time for a monthly fee and they sent us a 99 cent coupon in the mail. So I rented "Batman Begins", "A View From The Top", "Dirty Love", and "How To Marry A Millionaire". Out of all four of those movies, I would say that "Dirty Love" was the best. It stars and was written by Jenny McCarthy. It was directed by her then husband John Asher. Anybody who knows Jenny McCarthy knows her humor is on the gross side; that is what I like about it. It reminded me of when I was in college and during my freshman year Chad (Bring) and I would watch The Jenny McCarthy Show on MTV. In my dorm room I had four posters of her. Three were hanging around my bed and there was a fourth one hanging inside the closet door. The reason for this was because she was naked. I recommend "Dirty Love" to anyone who likes extremely crude humor. Be sure to rent the unrated version though, it's worth it. It also stars Finch from "American Pie" and Carmen Electra. I also rented today "John Q", "Bus Stop", and "Alien 3". I just watched "John Q". Chad suggested that I watch it. It is very good. Angie watched with me and she was in tears. I have to admit I had a tear or two as well.

-This week looks busy. It's the week before Christmas. The plan is celebrate with Angie's parents. Should be a good time. Angie and I have all of our gifts bought and sent. My family is all over the country so time is very important when sending out gifts. Once we move to L.A. it'll be even worse. This is Angie and my's last Christmas for just the two of us. It is very exciting. Even though the kid isn't born yet, it will probably be receiving the majority of the gifts. Next year Santa will be visiting our home. We know the kid won't understand yet, but it'll be good practice.

My No Work Wednesdays

-The bonus to working long hours during the week is that I get Wednesdays off. This gives me the opportunity to work on other things. I usually spend my Wednesdays working on RoomMate Production stuff. Sometimes I like to catch a movie; a movie I think Angie wouldn't want to see. So yesterday I headed off to Oak View and caught "King Kong". It was amazing. The three hours just flew by. The action never stops and it is very emotional. I think I'll go to it again, but this time I will take Angie. I also want to see "Brokeback Mountain" or as they call it here in the conservative Midwest, "The gay cowboy movie". It'll be awhile before it gets here, but I think I can get Angie to that one.

-I also took advantage of my day off yesterday to go to Westwood Cinema 8 to talk to Brent about RoomMate Productions' premiere of "Silence", "Laundromat", and "Kitty Cats & Exit Signs" in January. When I got there I found out that Brent doesn’t work there any more. I was freaked out for a minute, but after talking to the new manager, Ryan, everything seems to look cool.

-Finally, I received an email from my agent and the commercial I was casted in will be shot next month. This is good news considering my very short hair. Come January I should be ready to go.

-More issues with this haircut I decided to get. My agent called me again today. Turns out the commercial shoot might get switched to sometime in the next couple weeks as apposed to January. That is giving my hair a short (no pun) time to grow back. I'll probably think twice next time I get my head shaved.

-Last night Chad and I finished up the movie trailer for our second feature film, "Kitty Cats & Exit Signs". The only problem is that now we are having problems getting it to work online. Plan B is to ask our webmaster, Adam, for help. Let's hope he has time to fix this for us.

-Tomorrow I'm off to see Brent at Westwood Cinema 8 to make arrangements for a showing of the three films that RoomMate Productions has been working on. We want to shoot for the end of January for the big premiere. Chad and I are also going to be contacting people to help with promotions. We have a long list so it looks good. Last year we packed a 200 seat theater. This year we have a bigger theater and more showings. I'm more looking forward to the after party on premiere night. Last year was a blast and the same is expected for this year.

I Have No Hair

-When getting ready for the day, there is one step I wish I could skip; combing my hair. I'm not much of a hair guy, but being an actor this is something I must be aware of. So I try to make sure that my hair is groomed at all times, but if I see a chance to not worry about it I take it. On Friday I went in for a haircut and when Amanda asked me what she should do I got to thinking. I didn't see any auditions coming up and the last audition I went to, the job wouldn't be until January. So I told Amanda to take it all off. It isn't skin short, but it almost is. I would classify it as a "soldier" cut. What sucks is that as soon as I get home, my agent calls me. Turns out I got a job that I didn't audition for. Full Effect Productions, who I had worked with on a bank commercial, wanted me for another commercial they were doing. For a brief second my heart dropped because I had just shaved my head two hours earlier. Any actor knows that he/she must always look like their headshot, and I didn't. Lucky for me the job wouldn't be until January and my hair grows fast. So I relaxed and accepted the job and until then I'm going to enjoy not having to comb my hair.

-For the Dwights on Saturday night it was date night. I took Angie out to dinner at Charleston’s. We both had steak and we shared a cheesecake for dessert. Afterwards we were off to Village Point Mall for a movie. We had some time before the movie started so we walked around the open air mall for a bit. There was a maternity shop there so we stopped in. Angie had a great time looking at all of the clothes. I could tell she wanted one of outfits. Most of her dress clothes are just suits that she wears to work. She really doesn't have a dress she can wear, well that she can wear now being pregnant and all. Christmas is coming up and now thinking back I wish I would have let her buy a nice outfit. She's going to be "expecting" until May. I'm sure we could have come up with a nice place to go to where she could wear the outfit. Also, this is our first and we plan to have at least one more. The movie we saw was "The Ice Harvest". I thought it was very good. I think Angie liked it too. It reminded me a lot of "Fargo". The plot of a guy trying to commit a crime, but all of these things getting in his way. It was very funny. I recommend it.

-I started up another outlet to get contacts and hopefully further my acting career. I opened up a myspace account. I will have a blog on there, but it will be the same blog that appears here on blogspot; I'll just copy and paste it. I'm currently adding info to it. -This week will include prepping for the movie premiere that Chad and I are planning at the end of January. I'm also going to working on myspace, more on the script, and of course I'll be going to Gold's. I went three days last week; this week the goal if four.

One I mentioned earlier was that I wanted to do a documentary about professional wrestling. I still want to do that, but I think it will take years for me to even get started on it. What I'm working on now is a script. It started out as a sequel to RMP's "Halfway Point". I thought it would be fun to focus on the Sean and Cameron characters. I've decided to scrap that though because I think with those guys, there is only so far I can go. If I make them two totally different characters, I have more room to breathe. I'm going into the second draft of the script and I think it is going to be a lot more fun now that I don't have to worry about "Is this something Sean or Cameron would say?" My goal with this is to have it possibly someday be put on film. We'll have to wait and see.

-Besides my personal screenwriting adventures, I'm also going to continue writing scripts with Chad. I think we told some good stories with RoomMate Productions and when we change the name to RoomMate Ink, we can continue and not worry about how we are going film this. We have an idea we are playing with, but with more RMP work to do the idea will have to wait.

TNW (Total Non-Stop Weekend)

It was a non-stop weekend for me. I knew it would be, but I wasn't sure how busy.

-After work on Friday I watched the flick, "Sex and the Teenage Mind". I rented it with the thought that it might be a good sex comedy. I'm a fan of "American Pie" and "Eurotrip", but this one not so much. The plot was that of all sex comedies, but the jokes were not all there. Plus the ending left me wondering if they ran out of tape. It didn't really end very well. After I watched the flick I headed over to Chad's to work on our film, "Kitty Cats & Exit Signs". We also made a stop at Adam’s to say “hi”. Later that night I watched another film, "Robots". Again I was disappointed. I was expecting a film like "Ice Age", but it let me down. Kids might like it, but for me again not so much.

-Saturday started at 9am. Angie and I headed off in the snowy weather to Shopko to take advantage of their doorbuster sales. We picked up a playpen for the baby. We are looking forward to making room so we can set it up. After Shopko, I took my bride to lunch at Village Inn and then off to a movie. We caught the holiday film, "Just Friends". It is the newest film with local boy Chris Klein. It was VERY funny. I highly recommend it. It is Ryan Reynolds' funniest film since "Van Wilder" and Chris Klein's funniest film ever. When the movie let out we headed off to Borders to go to the coffee shop and check out some baby books. After we left the bookstore we headed home. Angie had made plans to go out with her friend Angie Knight, so I had the place to myself. I had rented the movie "Alien". I'm trying to expand my horizons when it comes to what movies I watch. I was very impressed and it kept my attention the entire time, it was a very good movie. I also watched, "House of Wax". The tag line of, "See Paris Die!" was something I was looking forward to. I wasn't expecting much of a plot, but the movie was very good. It isn't your normal horror movie. It's a remake so I'll have to check out the original. I called it an early night because I knew that Sunday was going to be busy.

-After church on Sunday I had to get home and prepare for an audition for an instructional video. I was very satisfied with how I did. Shooting for the video won't take place until January. Later that day I had an acting class. *Tip for all actors: Always keep learning and keep taking classes. The instructor was Andy Stout. Chad and I had worked with Andy on "Kitty Cats & Exit Signs". I learned a lot about auditioning which is what I was going for. I'm looking forward to my next audition so I can use the techniques I learned. Andy is also going to help me with networking with people out in L.A. After class I took the wife out to dinner at Red Robyn. It had been awhile since we'd been there. We ended the night watching "Mr. Deeds" in bed.

-Now this may look like a weekend of watching movies and going out to dinner, but keep in mind that an actor/screenwriter must always be studying film. Working means watching movies and breaking them down and analyzing them. This week includes a lot of trips to Gold's and more work on RoomMate Productions' flicks.

-Today marks 3 years for me working at TPG TeleManagment. I've seen a lot of my friends here come and go. I've seen this very small company grow into a corporate company on the rise. You'd think I'd love this, but of course I like the way it was when I started. Jeans, t-shirts, hats, tennis shoes were all welcome. Now we have to dress business casual. Even though I'm looking forward to leaving TPG, it will suck at the same time. I have good friends here and I will miss them when Angie, the baby, and I head off to L.A.

-Quick baby news: Had another appointment yesterday. We were asked if we wanted to take a test to see if the baby has spina-bifita or down syndrome. What a downer. But we also got to hear the heartbeat. Very fast and very strong. Next appointment is the beginning of January.

-It was a great Thanksgiving! True I did get sick, read more below, but it was a great weekend anyway. One of the best things about getting married, or being married, is that now your family doubles. Of course this can be bad, but for the holiday of Thanksgiving to me it has always been a positive. I've been married for 5 years now and Angie's relatives have turned from being her relatives to our relatives. When we said our "I Do's" not only did I get a wife but uncles, aunts, cousins, grandparents, parents, and of course another sister. Over the past 5 years I've noticed the in-law line is starting to fade, which is perfect. I hope the in-law line according to my wife will fade as well. Because of the distance we don't see my parents, siblings, etc. as much but only time will tell. I know when the baby gets here both sides of the family will have a blood relative in common. Just over six months to go.

-Here is the Dwight Thanksgiving at a glance. Last Wednesday Angie and I took to the road to North Platte, Nebraska. We were staying with her Uncle Scott, Aunt Mary, and her cousins Cory and Emily. Thursday we headed over to her Grandma Schaeffer's for Thanksgiving lunch and dinner. There were many of aunts, uncles, cousins, and second cousins who all showed up for the feasts. I talked to my parents and they were on their own vacation. They ended up going to Montgomery, Alabama. My parents’ idea of a vacation is going to a place that not many people have heard of. So when they said they were in Montgomery, I figured they were there to see the most obscure thing. My parents are definitely unique. Angie and I woke up early Friday morning to hit the stores for them “doorbuster” sales. We took care of almost all of our Christmas shopping. We also grabbed breakfast at Village Inn. We spent Friday afternoon watching the Huskers beat up on Colorado. We all stuffed our faces with finger food like veggies, cheese bread, pizza, and of course chicken wings. Saturday I woke up sick. (read more below) Angie and I made sure we got home before dark. We watched the new Bret Hart DVD and also caught TNA Wrestling. Sunday was spent chillin’ on the couch trying to recover. Plus I was trying to get well. That was the weekend in a nut shell.

WARNING: The following may not be suitable for people with weak stomachs.

-As I mentioned before I was sick. It started at 6am on Saturday morning with a simple stomach ache. By 8am I had thrown up. From the looks of things it looked like it was from all of the food I had yesterday. But the puking wasn't done. I ended up leaning over the toilet two more times that morning. I then diagnosed myself with stomach flu. It took a lot out of me. I could only sit back and let it run its course.

Okay, I'm done talking about my illness this past weekend.

-I'm not going to be getting to the gym until Wednesday afternoon. I want to make sure that I have my energy back. I'll try to also get there on Thursday and Friday. I'm also going to go one day on the weekend.

-Finally, I want to talk about my job. I work at TPG Telemanagement. I'm a Project Coordinator. It is considered "lower management". I spend my day at the computer putting together reports and sending them off to our clients. The best thing about my job, it is repetitive. After I've done the same report a few times, it becomes second nature. Soon I can pump out the reports while jamming to my iPod with no error. Now to some people this would drive them crazy. It would drive me crazy too if I didn't have my dreams and goals. If I didn't have that one thing out there that I've been hanging on to for as long as I can remember, my passion, I would go nuts. I'm at the top of my job, I can go no higher. Before TPG went “corporate” I might have been able to get as high as Vice President after about 10 or 15 years. Not any more. The next step above me is an Account Manager, then Account Director. We no longer hire within for those positions. The only positions that are available are Quality Coaches, a position below me. The other position is another Project Coordinator position. Since we are still a small company moving to another Project Coordinator position is not doable. I do have the annual raises, which are nice, but I guess you could say I'm in a dead end job. If I worked here for the next 20 years, I would still be a Project Coordinator. But I'm not complaining. I have that dream and that goal and I know this job here at TPG will end up being another rung on the ladder of life for me. (get it?)

2003 - 2005

Angie and I woke up this morning to find that a member of the family had passed away, our fish Husker. I thought something was wrong last night when we went to bed. He was darting all over his bowl, more than usual. He had also turned very gray. This had happend to our other fish, Elle, before she passed away just a few months ago. Before I went to bed I said a little prayer for Husker just in case. When we awoke this morning, he was gone.

Husker was my fish. When Angie and I went to Wal-Mart one day we picked up two Betas, one for her and one for me. It took awhile for the two fish to get along. They were in separete bowls, but they could still see each other. Eventually they became friends and could be seen playing with each other. When Elle died, we could tell it had an effect on Husker. His friend wasn't around to play any more. I was hoping he would last longer, but it wasn't to be.

I'll miss my friend, but in the end I know he is in a better place. Angie and I did mention that we weren't sure if we wanted a fish around when the baby is born. Wish he could have stuck around so they could have at least met. Husker, and Elle, were Angie and my's first pets. We'll never forget them. Rest in peace.

Gold's, The Weekend, and a Great Movie

-The workouts at Gold's went VERY well this past week. Friday was really good. I normally watch TV while I workout, but this time I listened to my iPod. I listened to John Cena and Nickelback. Before I knew it 45 minutes was up. Not bad.

-Saturday was a long day. I spent 5 hours filming the last scene for RoomMate Productions' "Kitty Cats & Exit Signs". It was cool though because I got to see my niece Robyn. She goes to college at UNL, about 50 miles away, so hopefully I'll get to see her more often. Saturday night I hung out with Chad and Adam and other filmmakers at Jason's house. We watched short film entries for the Omaha Film Festival. By the look of it, competition is going to be tough. I got home around midnight, but stayed up to watch a movie so I didn't get to bed until about 3:30 in the morning.

-Baby news update: With the help of Angie's parents we picked up the Lazy-Boy from Nebraska Furniture Mart on Sunday. It will be perfect for rocking the baby to sleep. We also checked out some cribs. To thank them for helping us we took them out to dinner at HuHot. If you haven't been there, I suggest it. Angie and I hadn't been there for awhile, but at one time we were addicted to the place. Want to thank my (ex) brother-in-law Brad for getting us hooked.

-I saw a very good movie this weekend. I saw 2002's "Home Room". It deals with school shootings. Before I saw this movie the best movie about school shootings was "Elephant" written and directed by Gus Van Sant. I didn't think a film could come close to the realism of school shootings like "Elephant", but "Home Room" did. In fact, the movie is one of the best movies I've see all year. The independent film was written and directed by first time filmmaker Paul F. Ryan. It stars Busy Philipps and Erika Christiansen. In fact they were what made me rent the film in the first place. Now I want to own a copy for myself. If you want to see this film I suggest watching "Elephant" first. Van Sant's film deals with the actual leading up to, and ending with, the shooting. It is pretty much a re-telling Columbine. It is a little gory at the end, but still good. "Home Room" starts with the aftermath of a shooting. It focuses on the students and how they deal with it. It also focuses on the parents and the police. It answers the question, "why?” In my opinion "Home Room" is better, but I'll let you decide for yourself.

Last night was Monday night and to the Dwight family that means wrestling night. Of course wrestling night is also Friday night and Saturday night is leaning towards that title as well. This was a special night because it was a tribute to the late Eddie Guerrero. Eddie was found dead in his hotel room Sunday morning. The cause of death was heart failure. Eddie had been addicted to alcohol and pain pills, but had been clean for four years. But the years he spent being an addict had hurt his heart. Wrestlers have such a crazy schedule with being on the road so much and always pushing their bodies to the limit to stay in shape; his heart finally gave out. Doctors said he fell into a deep sleep on Saturday night, and never woke up.

This episode of RAW was filled with wrestlers giving their thoughts on Eddie. There were matches, but they didn't follow any current story line. There wasn't a dry eye in the Target Center that night and there wasn't a dry eye in the Dwight apartment. I think it was the hardest Angie and I have cried from just watching TV. A few times I almost broke down, but I was able to keep my tears to just constant streams down my cheek. It is hard seeing big guys like Big Show, Triple H, and Chris Beniot actually breaking character and showing real human emotion. Hearing the personal thoughts about Eddie was also very emotional. Eddie was a Christian and he would talk to wrestlers JBL, Batista, Shawn Michaels, and Trish Stratus about Jesus Christ. He gave them inspiration and helped them get through hard times in their lives. Eddie also helped wrestlers be better in the ring. Rey Mysterio, Shelton Benjamin, Kurt Angle, and his nephew Chavo Guerrero all say it was Eddie who helped them with their dedication to in ring performance. Even if you don't know who these wrestlers are, just from hearing what they have to say, you can tell that Eddie Guerrero was a special guy. http://www.wwe.com/

For me I have been watching Eddie since his days in WCW. I was a fan of him when he came to WWE and wrestled along side Chyna. As of recently he had been coming out to the ring in a low rider. Angie and I were at the Quest Center the last time RAW came to town and Eddie came out with his low rider. We were right along the side railing and he parked his car right next to us. He got out of his car and gave us a high five before heading to the ring. Even though the night was filled with tears, for the Dwights the night ended on a good note. The main event of the night John Cena vs. Randy Orton; Angie and I are both fans of them. Outside of the ring, the two are actually best friends so it was fun to watch the match. I'm sure it was fun for them too.

In conclusion, being a big fan of professional wrestling, it has been a very emotional few days. Some might think that this is silly, but it is something only true fans can understand. Both Angie and I are praying for his wife and his young daughters.

A Good Christian Flick

-I went to an Independent Film screening last night. The film was called "Heart Of The City". It was a Christian movie. I had heard it "really wasn't", but as I watched it the more and more religious it got. I hope the filmmakers aren't saying that isn't a Christian movie to hopefully get more people to the theater. The story of the film was great. I wish there were more Christian movies out there. This was a drama, but I would like to see a Christian comedy someday. My favorite Christian movie is "Love Comes Softly" and its sequel, "Loves Enduring Promise". Both written and directed by Michael Landon Jr. The only problem I had with "Heart Of The City" was the acting. I guess with a Christian movie I expect more dramatic scenes and this had it, but I don't think the actors made it believable.

-This week I'm going to attempt another 5 day workout. I'm going for Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. I'm filming on Saturday, so I'll have to see if I can squeeze it in. I might go on Wednesday instead.

-In baby news: Angie and I purchased our first piece of furniture together. Everything we have is either a gift from Angie's sister April or her parents. Between the three of them they supplied us with dinning room, living room, and bedroom furniture. Yesterday we bought a Lazy-Boy. The purpose of the Lazy-Boy is so Angie, or myself, can rock the baby to sleep. It is an awesome chair and in Angie's words when she sat down in it for the first time, "It hugs me!" We also looked at cribs, but didn't really find anything. We also registered this weekend at Target. We'll be going back to register for more things, but I think we are off to a good start. We just wanted to be ready for Christmas.

-In sad news, WWE Superstar Eddie Guerrero was found dead in his Minneapolis hotel room. He was only 38. I've been watching Eddie since he wrestled in WCW in the mid 90's. Angie and I have also seen him live more than once. The last time we saw him was this last September when he wrestled in a cage match against Rey Mysterio. My prayers go out to his family. He was very talented and I respected him for that. Long live Latino Heat.

My Weekend Update

-Saturday was a great day spent with Angie. We woke up early and I decided to take her out to breakfast at Village Inn. Afterwards we had her oil changed, did her laundry and stopped by Shopko so she could pick up a body pillow. I guess you could say that I tagged along as she did her running around. We did swing by the video store so I was able to pick up some DVD's. I also bought a couple of DVD's at Shopko. It was a great day.

-Speaking of movies, I watched a lot of flicks this weekend. Saturday night I watched "Old School" over at Chad's. We were editing footage that didn't involve sound and since I'd see the movie before, I was able to multitask. We edited more of the footage on Sunday, so we watched watched "Garden State". It is still one of my favorites. After editing Angie and I watched "Halloween". Well Angie watched some of it until it got too scary. After that I popped in a documentary, "Beyond The Mat". It is a wrestling documentary. I had seen it before, but since I want to someday make my own wrestling documentary, I thought I'd give it another viewing. It was produced by Ron Howard and Brian Grazer. I don't think I'd be able to get that kind of backing, but then again you never know. Currently in the mail is a Bret Hart documentary that Angie ordered.

-My workout schedule this week is a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday plan. Four days in a row has been hard for me to do, but I'm sure I'm up for it. I plan on going after work everyday except Wednesday. I'll try to go during the afternoon when it isn't as busy. Thanksgiving is coming up and I'll be gone on a Wednesday through Saturday; that's four days off. I'll have to remember to take it easy on the turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatoes.

Permiere, My Wife, and Wrestling

-Yesterday was a very busy day for being considered a "day off". The day was filled with good news and great times. I stopped by Westwood Cinema 8 yesterday to talk to Brent about holding an RMP Film Festival II. Last year, Chad and I put on a great show that jam packed the theater. People were standing and sitting in the aisles in a 200 seat theater. The conversation with Brent yesterday showed that he is more than happy to have us back. He is going to sweeten the deal this time around. He is moving us to a bigger theater and giving us more showings. What he is offering is a big 2 and a half hour premiere on a Friday night. Then we'll show just "Kitty Cats & Exit Signs" at 7pm and 9pm on Saturday and 7pm and 9pm on Sunday. Not too bad. Let's just hope the film is done in time.

-I want to mention how great my wife is. Lately she has done a lot for me that I greatly appreciate. First of all last night she went to the Ice House. Angie really doesn't like a bar atmosphere with the smoke and the live music. But she went with Chad and I and she had a good time. Maybe we might go back some day. Plus, the other day she was at Wal-Mart and picked up a movie that I had been waiting to come out. She picked up "Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith". This is a movie I also dragged her to when it was in the theaters. Worst of all I made her watch "Episode I" and "Episode II" before we went. That's a total of 7 and half hours of her life that she won't get back and I love her for it.

-In earlier entries I mentioned that I'm working on a few projects for post RMP. Well I'm going to blog about one of them today only because who knows when this one will be completed. I want to make a documentary on professional wrestling. I want to focus on not just their athletic ability, but their ability to entertain. I would talk to wrestlers from backyard wrestling to the A-listers in the WWE on what it takes to get to be the best. I'm playing with the title of "I Want to Be a Professional Wrestler". This may sound like a joke, but I'm 100% serious. I'm putting together a budget and a list of people I would contact. Again I'm not sure when I'd do this since my 2006 is looking very busy. (I am going to be a dad and California is still calling my name) Maybe I should put a goal date of 2015 or something. Who knows?

All Weekly Goals Met!

-Five days this past week I was at Gold's. It feels pretty good. I plan on taking today off though. I think I'm going to shoot for three, possibly four, days this week. I'll try to hit the gym on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. Depending on my weekend schedule I might try to get there once next weekend. I haven't weighed myself for over a month. I'm not sure if it has changed much though. I'm doing a lot of cardio, but I'm also doing a lot of weight training. So what I'm might be losing in fat, I'm putting it back in muscle. All that is cool, since my goal was to just tone. What will change is my waist line. I'll have to check that next time I get a chance.

-Since Angie was gone this weekend I had the apartment to myself. My goal was to watch a lot of movies and go to the gym. Well, I met my goal on that too. I watched so many movies. Since it was Halloween weekend I saw a lot of scary movies. Saturday night at 10pm I went to 20 Grand and saw "Saw II". I went with Lou. He thought it was funny that after watching the movie, I had the pleasure of going home to an empty apartment. Anyway, let me just say that the movie was awesome! Like the original, the ending was very surprising. I knew that there would be a big twist. I tried to guess what it was and honestly I figured out some of it, but of course it still took my by surprise. The original was written by two guys from Australia. This one was written by one of the original writers and another guy. So if you are looking for a very smart horror movie to go to, I'd check out "Saw II". But be sure to see the original "Saw" first.

-I also saw this weekend what I'm hoping will be a big winner come Oscar time. I saw "Crash" on Saturday with Sandra Bullock, Terrence Howard, Matt Dillon, Don Cheadle, Ludacris, Brandon Fraser, Jennifer Esposito, Ryan Phillippe, Larenz Tate, and many more. I have to say it is the best movie I've seen all year. It is a must see. It is about stereotypes. It definitely makes you think. It also makes you mad, happy, cry, and cheer. The two people I'm hoping get recognized for Oscars are Sandra Bullock and Terrence Howard. They definitely put on the best performances out of this amazing cast.

-This week should be a busy one. Chad got his computer back so I'm hoping to get a lot of editing done on "Kitty Cats & Exit Signs". Only two more months left of 2005. Next year will be huge for RMP and the Dwights. With a baby on the way I expect that every aspect of my life will change. All I can do is just try to prepare for it, but I know that there are things I won't have control over. I'm looking forward to it.

A New Picture On My Desk

-Yesterday was a huge day for the Dwights. First of all I want to mention something I haven't blogged about yet. The third reason I'm working out so much, one being health and two being for my acting career, is because Angie and I will be expecting our first born on May 13th. Yesterday we had our second doctor's appointment. We were expecting to hear the heartbeat, but it didn't turn out that way. Instead we were able to see the baby! So instead of hearing the heartbeat, we saw it beating! I now have a framed picture of the kid sitting at work. So now I can look at my unborn child all of the time. So now I have something else to blog about. Our next doctor's appointment is December 1st.

-My workout schedule is still on track. I plan on working out today, tomorrow, and Sunday. Tonight will be cardio only because Angie and I are going to a Halloween party. My workout yesterday was really good. I had an excellent cadio and I uped the weights. When I was lifting in front of the mirror one word came to mind. DAMN, I'm white! The Dwight men have been known for their dark skin. Growing up I've always been dark, even in the winter, but these past few years I've lost that. I'm guessing that is from my mom's side of the family. I think for Christmas this year I need some tanning sessions.

-This weekend Angie is going to North Platte. I plan on taking it easy. The weekend will be made up of movie watching/working out. When I'm not at Gold's I'll be sitting on my couch watching movies. It'll be interesting on how hard it will be for me to stick to my diet. I plan on renting movies, with my Hollywood Video MVP, that Angie wouldn't normally watch. Yesterday we went to Best Buy and I purchased two DVD's. "Night Court: Season One" was on sale. That was my favorite show when I was kid in the 80's. I also picked up the special edition of "Saw". I plan on watching that tonight. Angie will be staying with her parents so I'll have the place to myself. I'm also going to be preparing myself for going to "Saw II" this weekend. So far I haven't found anybody to go with me. I haven't been to a movie by myself for awhile, but for a true movie buff, it is not an issue.

-On Wednesday I traveled to Sioux City to be in a Metro Community Credit Union commercial. It was a fun shoot. The two guys that filmed the commercial were really good. I played the banker giving the credit union's information to a guy named Matt who played the customer. It was a two hour shoot that went very well. It would be fun to work with these guys again. This week I'm a Banker

-On Wednesday I'll be traveling to Sioux City, IA to play a banker in a local commercial. Randy from Actors Etc. gave me a call on Saturday to offer me the part. I was casted from the look of my headshot. I had the headshot taken 3 years ago. The only real dress clothes I had at the time was a suit so the part of a banker is expected. I had been previously working as a DJ and basically it doesn't matter what you wear when the only thing people hear is your voice. The pay isn't too bad for the part so I might use it to get my headshots re-taken.

-My workouts continue to stay consistent. I was able to get to Gold's three times last week; Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. I should have gone on Saturday and/or Sunday to make it four, but I'm still happy with what I was able to do considering my schedule last week. This week my goal is five days. I'll go today if I'm able to get out of work at a good time, Mondays are always hectic for me. Tomorrow after work and Wednesday morning will be definite. I'll go either Thursday or Friday or even both. Angie is going out of town this weekend so I'll go on Saturday and/or Sunday. So out of all of those days I make it five days out of the seven.

-This weekend I was able to catch a few movies. I rented "Stealing Home" staring Mark Harmon and Jodi Foster. Good flick. It sort of falls in to the baseball movie category. Mark Harmon is better in "Summer School" but he gave drama a chance and didn't do too bad. In my last entry I mentioned two flicks I was planning to see, and I did. I saw "Evil Dead II" It wasn't too bad, I liked the first one better. For me to like a horror movie, the plot better be top notch. Both "Evil Dead" movies were lacking that, but since I found out the back story to the making of the film I was able to enjoy it more. Now a horror movie that I really enjoyed was "Saw". I highly recommend it. "Saw II" opens this weekend. I'm hoping to catch it opening weekend, even if I have to go by myself. I have no shame. I also watched "Good Will Hunting" with commentary with Chad this weekend. It was really good. I'm making a list of my movies I plan to go back and watch with commentary. I did see a movie in the theater this weekend. With Angie and Chad, we went to the $2 theater and saw "Red Eye". It was VERY good. It wasn't a typical Wes Craven movie. When I think Wes Craven I think, "Scream" or "Nightmare On Elm Street". This was a little different, but the suspense was definitely there.

-Finally, I have a couple of more side projects I'm working on. I hesitate on mentioning them only because I don't want to be known as someone who starts something, but doesn't finish. What made me think of the projects was an email I received from Dan from Skyline Entertainment and a when I found an old coat from college. I'll give more information if these ideas pan out.

I'm A Dancer?

-Tuesday I was at Club Nico's filming my scene for Dropped At Birth Productions' latest flick, "Imitation Life". I was casted as a "dancer" in the club scene. I was in a total of four scenes. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished project. Also serving as extras was Shannon T. Mosley, who I worked with on "Kitty Cats & Exit Signs" as well as other projects. Also, Catherine Giles was there filming her scene as the night club's waitress. The director said about halfway into filming that they were in need of more background so I called Chad Bring and he showed up to also hang out and serve as a dancer. Overall, the 10 and half hour shoot was a great time.

-My workout schedule is staying consistent. I was able to get to the gym yesterday and I'll be going today and tomorrow. I might also head down there either Saturday or Sunday. The best thing about going to the gym as much as I have, it becomes a habit. My wife's cousin, Josh, told me that if you go enough it'll be hard for you to stop. I'm finally realizing the truth about that.

-I saw "Evil Dead" this past week. I have been told to see "Evil Dead 2" as well. I plan to rent that next time I hit the video store. Chad also told me to check out the commentary on "Good Will Hunting". That is something I'll check out this weekend hopefully. I'm expecting that Ben and Matt will talk about screenwriting, which is something that I plan to start getting into next year.

My First Music Video

-I acted in my first music video this past weekend. I played a jerk husband who is always fighting with his wife about having kids. It was very interesting. The part wasn't new to me. In RoomMate Productions' "Laundromat", I play a husband who fights with his wife and one of those things are having kids. It was fun to sort of revisit that character. Tomorrow I'm filming my part in "Imitation Life" at Club Nico. The time was changed from 8:30am to 5:30pm to 1pm to 10pm. It isn't too bad, but I was hoping to hit the gym that night, but it doesn't look that way. Maybe before filming.

-Speaking of working out, last week was a success. I was at the gym on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. Friday was the lightest day and Sunday was the hardest. I really hit the weights on that day. This week will be more difficult. My wife, Angie, and I are dog/house sitting. I'm hoping to get to Gold's on Wednesday, maybe Thursday, and Friday. We'll see what the weekend looks like.

-Before I worked out on Sunday, I stopped at work to get ahead start on the week. While working I watched two movies on my portable DVD player. I started with "Trading Places". I hadn't seen the unedited version in a long time. Angie picked it up for me the last time she was at Shopko. Very funny movie. I also watched "Garden State" again. This time I watched it with commentary by Zach Braff and Natalie Portman. It was VERY good. I'm really getting into watching movies with commentary. Zach and Natalie's commentary was very funny. (I mean c'mon, it's Zach Braff) If you haven't checked it out I recommend it. Plus Natalie does an excellent job. If you've only seen her in the "Star Wars" prequals, be sure to check out "Garden State". Her emotions and comedic timing is right on. Also check her out in "Cold Mountain". She has a small part, but it's effective. Finally her Oscar nominated role in "Closer" shouldn't be missed. She didn't win, but I feel that within' the next 5 years, she'll nab herself a statue.

Going Good

-I'm proud of myself. In my last entry I talked about a week at Gold's, three possibly four days. Well today after work will be the third day. Not bad. My plan is to eventually keep to a four day workout week. I'm planning on going tomorrow so that would make four, but I don't want to get a head of myself. I'm doing great cardio wise. I could do more lifting though. What I do now is just go around to certain machines and lift. It could more organized so tomorrow I'm going to take a notebook and set myself up with a more structured plan.

-I've got two acting jobs coming up within the next week. Tomorrow I'm working with Lou Moulton of Extreme Films. He is filming a music video to show at the Hot Shops Film Festival. On Tuesday I'm going to film my part for the film "Imitation Life" a Dropped At Birth Production. I still want to get my demo reel for my purposed acting website, but with my schedule this weekend, I don't think I'll be getting to it. I'll be editing tonight with Chad on a film our production company, RoomMate Productions, did. Tomorrow I've got a workout planned for the morning, the music video in the afternoon and right after that I'm off to a birthday bash for my God-daughter Alyssa. Sunday doesn't look any slower with church in the morning and then off to TPG to get a head start on the work week. Crazy!

-I hate to say it, but I'm proud of myself for something else. A while ago at church the pastor handed everybody these prayer cards. We use them to help us pray for someone who we want to find Jesus. I put, "My Dad". The card reminds us to pray every day at 1pm for one minute for that person. So far I have done it almost every time. I think I missed one or two Saturdays, but other than that, I'm doing good. It is a very good idea. This is what the card says, if anybody would want to pray for somebody like I do:

A week at Gold's

-Three, possibly four, days are planned this week for workouts at Gold's. Monday I'm planning a heavy workout consisting of cardio and weights. Tuesday I'll focus on just weights and Friday will be cadio only. I might put in a workout on Wednesday if not then maybe Saturday. Things are going great with this new membership. After I workout I always walk away with this great feeling. It is a great way to dispense stress.

-I got to see my cousin Spencer on Saturday night. Him and his band Tenth Hour Calling put on a concert at Millard South. Chad and I went and it was as always a great concert. He will be in town next month performing at Grace Community Church.

-Sunday was a good night hanging out with the wife. She bought me two DVD's, "Trading Places" and WWE's "The Self-Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior". We watched the WWE documentary last night. It was VERY good! It brought back a lot of memories for me. My dad use to take me to WWE events back in the 80's. I was able to see the Ultimate Warrior wrestle Rick Rude. Tonight is another night for wrestling. Should be a good one.

-Had two good workouts so far this week on Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday I hit the weights pretty hard. I think I might have hurt my back a little. Today, Thursday, I'm going to take a day off. On Friday I'm going to do a light workout after work. I'll focus more on cardio and maybe do a little lifting. Saturday morning I'll also be working out and hopefully I'll be ready to go full force with my normal cardio/weights workout. I haven't done a class yet, I think I'll do a class when I have someone to go with. Angie might be signing up for a 30 day free trial soon. Plus, Chad has a membership and maybe him and I can hit a class or two. I've been listening to a lot of fitness podcasts lately and they have been talking up pilates. They are good for building muscle and toning. Example would be Hillary Swank in "Million Dollar Baby" who did a lot of pilates to prepare for the role. Eating habits have been going very well. A couple of cheating meals, but overall not bad.

-Well no Omaha Steaks for me. Monday I took the typing test to work in Order Processing or Customer Care. Last year I failed the test. You can only miss 3 and last year I missed 4. This year I was hoping to do better. Well, I didn't. I missed 5. But they said I could come back and take the test again the next day. I called Tuesday afternoon to see if there were still openings in OP and Customer Care for evenings so I can go in and take the test again. Turns out only days were available, so I didn't bother making the trek to the Omaha Steaks office. Not sure what I'm going to do now. I'm focusing on so many other things right now, but the extra cash around the holidays is always good. I may be looking into getting a part time job some where else.

-I'm going to be in another film later this month. On October 18th I'm going to be filming my part for Dropped At Birth Productions' film "Imitation Life". I'm an extra in a club scene. It's an all day shoot, so sounds like it'll be a busy day.

Keepin' Busy On The Weekend

- Friday was anniversery number 5. Angie and I went to Ted's Montana Grill. Angie had a big burger and I of course had a steak. Mmmm. Afterwards we went home and watched "A Lot Like Love". It wasn't too bad. It is like a modern, re-telling of "When Harry Met Sally". I give it a "C".

-Saturday started early with a great two hour workout at Gold's. Reminder to self though: eat before the workout to avoid the shakes. At about 11:30, I picked up Chad and Adam and we headed up to a Mortuary to be extras in Bob and Lou's short film "Shadow Board". It was a lot of fun and I'm glad we were able to help them out. At 4:30, Angie's parents picked us and April up and we went out to dinner at Old Chicago. After dinner we headed off to the Quest Center. We saw an awesome rodeo. It had been awhile since I'd been to one and the first time I saw one inside. After the rodeo, LeAnn Rimes took the stage and performed for an hour. That girl has got some talent. She can pull off country, pop, and even perform a little Janis Joplin.

-Sunday started with a great sermon at church with Christi. Afterwards I headed off to work to get a head start on the week and Angie headed to her parents' to do some scrappin'. After going to work, and about an hour workout at Gold's, I headed home. I showered and popped in "Ben-Hur". When Angie got home she said there was another fire. We went out onto our deck and sure enough the building across the way from us had caught on fire. Just over a year ago the building next to it also caught on fire. According to the news that night the reason for the fire was unclear, but the rumor around the complex is that someone's cigarrette wasn't completely out on the deck. Also there is a rumor going around that it wasn't a tenent that lived there, but one of the contracters that was hired by the new owners to give the complex a "new look". But don't take my word on it, it is just a rumor. After a great dinner and a nice 4 hour film, it was time to go to bed.

-It was a very eventfull weekend and the week looks just as busy. I'm off to Omaha Steaks to see if I can get in for the holiday season as a part-timer. Later tonight the wife and I will be crashing on the couch watching WWE RAW as it returns to the USA Network. Three hours of non-stop wrestling. I love it!

Another Step & Another Year

-I've taken another step towards getting ready for Hollywood. I've always said that I'm overweight. So the other day I joined Gold's Gym. I've put together a workout schedule for myself so I can workout 4 days a week for a total of about 32 hours a month. I'm also going to be watching very closely what I eat. I figure I can use blog space to keep track of that stuff. So for people who read this they will see my progress of working out and the results I'm seeing. I'll start blogging on the 1st of October. Only because it's the first of the month.

-Tomorrow is a huge day for the Dwights. It is Angie and my 5th wedding anniversery. We have a lot to celebrate. If you think of all of the stuff that we have gone through to get this far, I'm surprised we made it.
Year one was a little difficult. We had to get use to each other. We knew what it was like to be a couple, but now we had to be not only roommates but a person that was around all of the time. We also had to get use to the fact that when decisions are made, they are not just made for one of us. What we do will in fact effect the other.
Year two was the year of no money. We had moved to South Dakota during year one. It was cheaper to live there but we were making no money. We ended up moving back to Nebraska and in with Angie's sister.
Year three saw a turn around. We each started making good money. Angie's ability to work with money came in handy that year. I also started getting acting jobs and started working more with RoomMate Productions. We started seeing less of each other, but the time together was precious.
The next year was good because we were promoted in our jobs. This brought us both even closer because we could see our dreams coming true. We might have gone out on too many dates that year, but hey we're in love.
This past year saw Angie and I spending less time together. It was more RoomMate Productions and acting for me. Angie quit her second job and started hanging out with friends more. But, God has become even more important in our life then in the past. Our faith is growing and it is growing together.
Now we start a new year and only Angie and I know what this year will bring. Stay tuned and you will too.

So what's my point? No it isn't the less time you spend with your spouse the more you get a long. It is that marriage is hard and it is something you have to work at. Once you get married, you are never alone. You're with the person you love and your best friend at the same time. I wouldn't trade in the past five years for anything.

I'm an addict

I have a new addiction...podcasts.

I start out each day by downloading a few podcasts to get me through the day. My favorite site is becoming www.podcastalley.com. They have an awesome variety of podcasts that help me get through the day. I usually download podcasts from the category of Movies/Films. This gives me a great insight on movie reviews, filmmaking, and screenwriting. Of course most of the people I'm listening to are people just like me. But some of them actually have people who are in the business full time. I can learn a lot.

Another favorite category of mine is Health/Fitness. Here I can learn more about, well health and fitness. My goal of 180lbs is something I'd like to reach by year's end. These podcasts are definitely helping. There are three reasons why I have set that goal for myself: 1) There are health issues in my family that I would like to avoid and staying in shape is one way to do that. 2) I'm an actor and being in shape can make myself more marketable especially if I'm looking for work here in the Midwest. 3) I'll have to get into that at a later time. :)

Let the PR begin

-Advertising. That is what I have to do. I have to "sell" myself. Not in a bad way, but to get the attention of agents and casting directors I have to convince them I'm the man they are looking for. I'm working with a friend of mine, Adam A. Koch, in putting together a website. On this website I plan on having a page of head shots and a demo reel. Tomorrow I'm going to be time coding some of the footage of the films I've been in to get it ready for this demo reel. I was really impressed with actor/coach Randy J. Goodwin's reel. (http://www.randyjgoodwin.com/) Hopefully I can have one like his.

-I'm going to be in another film, as an extra only though. A long time ago I auditioned for the film, "Imitation Life" for Dropped At Birth Productions. I didn't get a part but they were interested me as an extra as well as a possible voice over for their trailer. My scene takes place on October 18th. Should be fun. Another film I was in, "Bert" is now on the web in two places:

-RMP life is going good. The film I started four years ago is almost done. The movie trailers are located at www.roommateproductions.com. A big thanks goes out to Chad, Adam, Jason, Jeremy, Julia, Jody, Geoffrey, Dan, Jill, and Zach for bringing it to life. Also to my wife Angie who first read the script four years ago. It was her and I who made those weekly trips to the laundromat when we were living on love alone because money was non-existent. Love ya babe!

-Something happened to me last Sunday that has never happened to me before. I almost lost it during church. The pastor handed out prayer cards. The purpose of the prayer cards was so we can pray for one person to help them find Jesus. The card says we will pray for them everyday at 1pm. I of course wrote my dad down. As we prayed the tears started flowing. I thought I was going to loose it. Luckily he did this at the end of the service. I hung the card up in my cube at work. So if you look at your clock and it reads 1pm, you'll all know what I'm doing.

-The week looks very busy. Mostly filled with RMP and acting stuff. What can I say it is my future. I was put here on this Earth to entertain. A task I take very seriously. Have a good week.

What a Trip!!!

-Angie and I just got back from a week long vacation. We went to visit my parents, aunt and uncle, and cousins in Atlanta, GA. A great time was definately had by all. We started off the week with a trip into Atlanta to see WWE Smackdown. We then attended a Braves game the next night. Braves took the game from the NY Mets in 10 innings. It was a great game and we had great seats. Along the third base line, right next to Chipper Jones. We also got to see my mom's classroom where she teaches. She's been teaching since the early 70's and is coming close to retirement. This will be the last school she teaches at so I had to see it. We celebrated my second cousin's 11th birthday by having Mexican. It wasn't Julio's, but it was still good. Saturday we took my mom to downtown Atlanta. All she hears are bad things from there, but it wasn't bad at all. Now I think she can take my dad to a Georgia Tech or Braves game with confidence. The rest of the trip was spent visiting with my aunt and uncle. We don't see them much so it was good to hang out with them. We also had a great visit with my cousin Suzanne, her husband Steve, and their two boys Cray and Reese. We are looking forward to keeping in closer touch with them.

-On another note, I was told this week about something that has been bogling my mind for the longest time. Why did my dad survive his heart attacks at Christmas, 2004? It started with him asking me. He told me that he didn't know why her survived. This is a man who has been saying for years, "Why am I still alive?" "Why do I go on living?" This past week I was told. First of all, my dad is not a Christian. He respects the religion, but in turn he expects people to respect his. He says it is his right because the USA is Democratic country. He is a very intelligent person, so his belief is based off of stuff that can be seen. His religion is that of the Native American tribe, Chipawa. He worships the sky that provides us with sunshine, the ground that provides us with food, etc. I believe that when my dad dies, he will not go to Heaven or "the other side", he will go to Hell. It doesn't also bother me, but a lot of other people. When my dad was lying on his death bed, it was indeed his time to go. But what God told me, in his own way, was that it wasn't. You see when my dad was dieing there were many, many people praying for him. From his friends, family, to people who don't even know him. There were people who don't even like him praying to God that he be spared. All of these God loving Christians praying for a man, who believes that God doesn't exist, for him to live. There must be a reason he didn't die. My dad was saved because he has one thing left to do on this Earth. That is to except Jesus as his Savior. All of these people were praying for him to live or that Jesus would except him and let him into Heaven, myself included. God must have been listening. My dad was given a second chance at life. So now I say another prayer: Dear Lord, please help my dad as he now searches for his reason for living past the 1st of this year. Help him realize that it was you that saved him because of all of the people around him asked you to let him into Heaven. Help him find and discover your son. In Jesus name, Amen.

A Busy Weekend

-It was a very busy weekend. I spent all day Saturday and Sunday editing "Kitty Cats & Exit Signs". As of now the film is up to just under 20 minutes. Even though the film has some sound problems that need to be fixed as well as some cropping that needs to be done, the movie is very entertaining. I can't wait to see the finished product.

-One of the things I have planned post RoomMate Productions is to start writing again. I've already started writing poetry. Poetry is something you can't just decide to write, you have to be inspired. I also want to start writing screenplays. I've decided to get warmed up on a screenplay for some friends of mine. To get ready for it I watched the film, "Sin City". This will tell you what kind of film it is. I've got some great ideas and I'm ready to get started.

-Hopefully this week I'll be able to get more apartment searching done. I've also got more acting coaches to contact. Every good actor should have one. Tonight is wrestling/ultimate fighting night, so I know editing will be put off for at least three hours. I only watch TV on Mondays and Thursdays. Soon Fridays will be added to that. WWE Smackdown will move to Friday soon and Survivor will start up next month on Thursdays. Angie likes the Amazing Race which is usually on Wednesdays. We aren't a normal family, that I can tell you. I'm surprised that we are as normal as we are. Oh well, you gotta love it!

A Year Older

-What a perfect day! I have to give it up to my wife for making my 28th birthday one of the best. It started out with church. It is always good to start off the day thanking the Lord for allowing me to live another day and for all of the people in my life. After that was the surprise party. I didn't expect a thing. All of my close friends were there. It was great. I've never had a surprise party before. I want to thank everybody who took time out on their Sunday to celebrate with us. After the party, we went to a movie with my partner in crime, Chad. The three of us saw "The 40 Year-Old Virgin". The movie was SO funny! There were times when tears were in my eyes from laughing so hard. It was another movie that I wish I would have thought of; kind of like "Wedding Crashers". After the flick, Chad headed home, but the night was not over for the Dwights. I made a quick call to my mom. Twenty-eight years ago saw the near death expierence for us both. She almost died on the 18th and I almost died on the 21st. After I talked to my mom Angie and I then headed to DJ's Dugout. Not only was the 21st my birthday, but it was WWE's Summer Slam. For three hours we hung out with about 50 other WWE fanatics and watched Hogan, Cena, Benoit, Batista, Orton, Mysterio, and Angle pick up wins. Ofcourse we also saw our favorite, Matt Hardy, take a good beating; can't win 'em all. In the end, turning 28 was great. It's going to be a great year!

-Today is the first day of the L.A. apartment search. I should have some good prospects by Wednesday so I can make a couple of calls.

-Today at 1pm I'll be at Reel People. On Saturday Chad and I hung out with my booking agent Jeanette and her husband Donnie at or friend Cathy's wedding. Jeanette told me about an Iowa Lottery commercial that will be shooting in Des Moines. Looking forward to that.

Monday, Monday

-Next Monday is coming soon. Monday is a big day for me. It is the day that I've marked down as the day I start to look for apartments in the L.A. area. I've already taken a peek at what is out there, but starting Monday I'm going to actually be making some phone calls and doing some budgeting. The reason I've made Monday, 8/22, the day is because it is the day after my 28th birthday. I was 18 the first time I planned on moving out to L.A. It's only symbolic that I make this attempt, hopefully the last attempt, 10 years later.

-For some reason I've started writing poetry again. Not sure why, it just happens. The last time I wrote poetry was when I was 16. I doubt you will see anything here on my blog. I never really shared my poetry. I did publish two of them about 12 years ago, but that was about it for sharing. Maybe someday.

A Good Email

-I received a good email the other day. Scott Beehner, writer/director of "Bert", wrote to let me know that I did an excellent job on Wednesday and wanted me to call him next month when he was in L.A. I had written him asking about what production company to put on my resume. I think I will call him to see if I can set up a job out in L.A. before Angie and I actually move out there. You can be an actor from any where in the country, but you have to be willing to travel. The reason I want to move to L.A. is because the majority of the work is done out there. Ask anybody in any profession, to succeed you have to go where the work is. If your goal is to be a great steel worker, you wouldn't live in Omaha, Nebraska. You'd move to Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. To be a great actor you go to either L.A. or N.Y.

-I've come up with some good ideas for a personal website. A friend of mine sells web space and once I have enough to fill it, I think I'm going to purchase one. I've been saving my "sport" money so I can get some new pictures taken. The headshots I'm using are old, I need some new ones.

-I saw "The Dukes of Hazzard" over the weekend. I actually had a good time. If you plan on seeing this film, don't expect a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat. It was easy to figure out how the film would end, but then again so was the TV show. If you were a fan of the show, I'd say see the movie. You'll laugh, I promise. Oh and Jessica Simpson looks good too. :)
The next film I hope I see is "Four Brothers". Mark Wahlberg is supposed to be good in it and of course it's a John "Boyz In The Hood" Singleton film.

Elle Dwight

We knew when we bought her that betas don't live that long. She was around just long enough for us to get attached to her. She became a member of the family. Elle wasn't just a fish, she was a companion and a source of entertainment. To her counter part, Husker, she was at first an enemy. As the months went on they would become friends and would be seen playing hide-and-seek with each other in their respective tanks. She'll be missed.

Filming "Bert"

-Yesterday I shot my scenes for "Bert". It was a lot of fun. It was a hot one though. I think it got up to the mid 90's. I was outside the entire time and I was dressed in full police wear. The only thing on me that wasn't covered was my hands and my face, which ended up getting burned. Oh well, it was still a blast to be on a set again and not have to worry about directing. I also got to carry a gun and a night stick. The director, Scott Beehner, was great to work with. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product, possibly in December. It was also great to work with my fellow (fake) police officers Jay, Riley, and Jim.

-It's another light day here at work. I'm going to be searching for more apartments in L.A.

Memorize, Tunes, and Apartments

-Tomorrow I film my scenes for "Bert". I've been going over my lines all day today. My character, Officer Smith, is a funny character. He questions what his partner, Officer O'Malley, claims to be a come on by a personal trainer. Smith has a few cool lines and even a nice sarcastic remark about O'Malley. I'm looking forward to playing the part. The director, Scott Beehner, called me last night with my call time and location. Beehner was in the film "Tomcats" with Jerry O'Connell and Shannon Elizabeth. He played the part of Max. Tonight I'm going to rent the film from Hollywood Video. I haven't seen the movie all of the way through.

-One thing that sucks is that my iPod's battery died this morning. I forgot to charge it this morning. It's cool because I've been checking out a lot of podcasts about acting, filmmaking, and movie reviews. I'm also listening to www.live365.com. I'm able to get some good tunes there.

-This morning I was at work earlier than normal. I used the extra time to look at apartments in the L.A. area. It is helping a lot so when I start looking for a job I'll know how much money I'll need to make. There is a good chance that six months from now, Angie and I will be unpacking boxes in our new apartment in L.A.!

It's all coming together

-Last night was a little sureal for me. Angie, Chad and I went over to the Koch's. Adam, Chad and I were editing RMP's short film "Laundromat". What was so sureal for me was that it was four years ago that I wrote the first draft of the film. Angie and I were living in Vermillion, SD and money was very tight. All of the characters in the film I can relate to. From watching people around you, to seeing what you want but afraid to go for it, this film is almost a metaphore of my life. It'll be cool to see it when it's finished.

-Angie and I received an early 5th wedding anniversery gift. Her parents are taking us to see LeAnn Rimes at the Quest Center. Should be a great time, I can't wait to go!

-Finally, I'm working on a secret project. The only person that knows about it is Angie. Before it is complete, I'll have to tell one other person. I know that isn't much to go on, but that is all I can disclose at this time. Let's just say it'll be a great way to say goodbye as my wife and I head out west next Spring.

-I auditioned yesterday for Extreme Film's upcoming short film "First Impression". I auditioned for the role of Quincy. I know I don't have a very good chance, but it was fun auditioning for my friends. I'm looking forward to seeing their films. Chad and I helped them run their auditions last night. We also auditioned a few actors for our upcoming project, "Silence".

-I'm less than a week away from filming my part for "Bert". Between now and then I'm going to be memorizing my lines. It'll be fun to be strickly on the acting side of the camera. I always say I'm an actor first.

-In about 6 weeks or so, Angie and I are going to be heading down to Georgia to visit my parents. My plan is to spend as much time with my dad as possible. I'm making arrangements for Angie to hang out with my cousins, and even her cousin who lives in Augusta, so I can spend some quiet time with my dad. About 7 months ago, he almost died of not one but four heart attacks. So he is in a sense living on borrowed time. Since their move to Georgia, we don't see them very often. This could possibly be the last time I see him. It brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it. My dad and I have had a lot of fights in the past 10 years, but I still love him. He is my father. There a few things about his life that I don't agree with, but there is one thing that I respect about him. He lives his life about experiences because in the end that is all you will have. I hope that is something that one day I can pass on to my children. When it is my time, I hope I can tell God that I lived my life to the fullest and I didn't let the opportunities that came my way get away. I'm going to try to enjoy life, it is His biggest gift to us.

Always Be Ready To Try Something Different

When it comes to acting that is something that I have to do. On Saturday I had my first kissing scene. Now I had had one kissing scene before this, but it was in High School and it was a one-act play. It was like, BOOM, and it was over. This was a little different. This was film, so we needed a few takes to make sure it looked realistic. The kiss was with Cathy Levesque. This was also her first kissing scene. We rehearsed it twice and filmed it about 3 times. After I watched the playback I could see that it looked pretty good. The reason I think is because after the two rehearsals Cathy and I were mostly worried about hitting our mark than the actual kissing part. So if any actors are reading this and wondering how a kissing scene in a film is...well... the best way to describe is: the most non-intimate thing I've done. And if you are ever called to do one, don't think too much about it, remember it's acting. I know if I'm ever called to do it again, it'll be no problem because I'll know what to expect.

My Que

14,500: that is the number of people that will be laid off from Hewlett Packard in the next year and a half. The employees scheduled for termination don't know who they are meaning my wife, Angela, could be one of them. That is my cue. I need to start stepping up my efforts. I know I'm going to start my second job come this fall at Omaha Steaks. That will help with Christmas gifts and also if I can get on the Holiday schedule I'll be able to get the Omaha Steaks discount for a year. That'll help with buying food. If Angie is one of the unlucky ones, I hope her time doesn't come while we are still in Omaha. This way we'll be out in L.A. and there will be more opportunity for her to get a new job that she likes. Also I'll be persuing acting and hopefully getting more paying jobs. TPG is great, and my pay is good, but it doesn't look like it'll be getting much larger at my current position. Plus the next step up for me is Account Manager and it seems all Account Managers are hired from outside the company. In other words, I've peeked here at TPG and I'm not going to move up.

Some of the things coming up:

-Thursday, July 28th, the pastor of St. Mark's is coming over. Angie and I want to join the church and we are looking forward to a great meeting with him.
-Wednesday, August 10th, I'm filming my scenes for "Bert". I'm hoping it'll be an independent film that gets great exposure.
-Sunday, August 21st, I will get an answer dealing with what kind of housing I should look for out in L.A.

Angie's Birthday

Yesterday was a lot of fun. I planned a surprise party for my wife, Angie. It was hard keeping it from her. But with help from her friends and family, we were able to show Angie a good time. I want to thank everybody that showed up.
-Adam and Christi were able to make it. Since the arrival of little Alyssa it's hard for them to get out.
-It was also great to finally meet Angie's new friend Angie Knight and her husband Sean. The four of us will have to hang out more. When I first met Sean the first thing he started talking about was movies. I like him already!
-Brad and Julia were also able to make it. They are such a fun couple to hang out with. Julia seems to always have a smile on her face and Brad is always making everybody laugh.
-It was also great to see Mindi again. She is a great friend of Angie and mine from college. Here sister Amanda was also able to make it,who is the Dwight personal stylist. It's great to hang out with her outside of the hair salon.
-Of course Chad was there. Just kidding. This was a huge weekend for him, buying and moving into a new house that is. He took time from that to celebrate Angie's birthday. What a friend.
-What would a birthday party be without Angie's sister April. She was there with her boyfriend Will. It was great to have them there with us.
-Probably the most surprising thing was that Angie's parents were there. I didn't think that they would be there. I'm so happy that they were able to make it. I know it meant a lot to Angie to have them there. She is so close to her mom and dad and it wouldn't be a party if they weren't there.

I hope that Angie had a good time. During the day I would look over at her and she was always smiling. Then I would start to feel sad. Would this be her last birthday party for awhile with all of these friends? Since we are planning the move to California next spring, it would. Next year, it'll probably just be the two of us. I knew this going in and I wanted to make this a special day for her. I love her very much and I want her to be happy. I hope I was able to do that for her.

"Halfway Point" goes to Chicago

RoomMate Productions' first feature film, "Halfway Point", will be showing in Chicago, Illinois at the 5th Annual Microcinema Fest. I wrote and directed the film along with Chad Bring. We also have supporting roles in the film. I star as Sean, the principal's cousin. Sean, along with Chad's character Cameron, are the comic relief of the film. They were perfect roles for Chad and I. It is also the roles I want to persue in the future. I love to play the supporting roles. I think it is the supporting roles that make the leads do a better job. We give them something to re-act to and everybody knows that acting is re-acting. I also want to play villians. I've never done that before, but it is something I'd like to try. Acting Updates

It's been awhile since I've blogged, so I thought I'd take some time today to go over what is currently "In My Head".

-Yesterday RMP and Extreme Films filmed a HUGE scene for "Kitty Cats & Exit Signs". It was a scene between me and Cathy Levesque. Cathy had about 90% of the lines so this gave me the opportunity to really put forth some non-verbal actions. It took me awhile to get started, but I think I was very lucky to work with Cathy on this one. She is a very talented actress. I actually think she is getting better as the film goes on. Since we are coming to the end of filming, she was able to deliver her dialogue very well, which made my job easier. I'm looking forward to seeing our scene put together.

-On August 10th I will be filming "Bert". As blogged before I will be playing Officer Smith. I'm really looking forward to not only the acting part, but I'll be able to build up my resume some more. A side note is that August 10th is a Wednesday and I don't work Wednesdays at my day job, TPG Telemanagement.

-Last night was the first time in about 5 months that I saw Kevin O'Neill. Kevin was a huge factor in getting RMP's "Clay", "Who's There", "Halfway Point", and "Aisle to Aisle" (which he co-wrote) made. In February there was a falling out between RMP and Kevin. He was a great friend to Chad and I and even though working together wouldn't work any more, it sucks that our friendship had to end. Five months later, the three of us meet again to give Kevin his copy of "Halfway Point". I planned out what I wanted to say. I wanted to say I was sorry and try to build a friendship back up again. When it comes to working with him like the old days, I don't see it happening. But I want to be friends and see if we could help him in anyway with his films. He is very talented and RMP would probably only hold him back. Well it didn't work out that way last night. I tried to say I was sorry, but was cut short with more of what happend on that cold day in February. After he said his peace, I turned away and Chad and I left. I'm hoping that someday (soon I hope) Heavy Kevie and I can be friends again. We'll just have to wait and see.

-About a month ago I auditioned for an independent film titled, "Bert:The Movie". It is going to be directed by Scott Beehner. He is an actor who has appeared in "Charmed" and "The Young and the Restless". He has also been in such films at "Tomcats", "The Last Days of Disco", and "The Dry Spell". Well my agent called me today to let me know that I have been casted as Officer Smith. Last I heard, filming starts in August. I can't wait!

-My goal from now and until Angie and I move is to keep working. I'm auditioning for a play this evening at the Blue Barn Theater. I've never done theater here in Omaha. In fact, I haven't done theater since 2001! I'll give it my best.

-Chad sent me an email from Scott Tomasso. Scott first wrote us back in August. He is from Omaha and he went out to L.A. to act. He is planning on coming back to Omaha in October to film a movie. I'm going to try to make arrangements to meet with him. He has already told me to contact him when I get out there, I think I'll contact him when he gets back here.

My Audition

-It was a dramatic weekend at the Dwight apartment over the weekend. Friday was my audition for the national talent scout. If she liked me, I would be able to audition for the top talent agencies in the country from New York, Chicago, Orlando, and L.A. There were about 100 people at the Lincoln audition. The scout had already been to Sioux Falls, Sioux City, Kearney, and a trip to Omaha was planned for Saturday. She told us before we auditioned that she was going to choose the top people out this region and they would go on to South Carolina to see the agents. If we were chosen, we would find out in the next 24 hours. When it was my turn, I went up and performed the best I could. It was a cold read, meaning they would flash me a cue card with a commercial on it and that is all I had to go on. It was definately fun. It was great to see all of the actors as well as singers, models and dancers from around Nebraska come up to audition. There was even an actor from Kansas. At about 10am the next morning, I got a call saying that I had been selected to go audition for the top agents. It was bitter sweet. It was awesome because it was a great honor to be chosen. The only thing standing in the way was the scout's fee for putting me in front of all of these agents. Also they would supply an acting coach for me for 6 months as well as many other people to help get me prepared for the BIG day. Angela and I had to sit and talk about this one. Our move to L.A. is scheduled for March 2006, if I were to go to South Carolina it would set this back about a year. I had been wanting to get to L.A. now for about 10 years, so this made it tough. We prayed about it and we came to the decision to pass on South Carolina. This isn't a once in a life time opportunity. When we get to L.A., there will be national scouts out there as well. I'm also currently looking for acting coaches, so I plan on working on my craft and getting better. We were both sad, but in the end we felt that God wants us to get to L.A. first.

Creating More Opportunities

-Yesterday I scheduled an appointment to meet with a national talent scout. On Friday at 7pm I'll be in Lincoln at the Holiday Inn. I can either prepare a :30 monologue or use one of theirs. I'll prepare one and also take a look at theirs. Who knows where this will go. We'll just have to wait and see.
-I'm going to start looking for acting work in Kansas City and Chicago. Let's face it, Omaha is a little slow right now. Well at least I think it is. Reel People has stopped calling me and Actor's Etc. doesn't call me that much. I'll have to call them today.
-I talked to my dad yesterday for Father's Day. He had four heart attacks last December. He is lucky to still be alive. I know he is just living on borrowed time right now. I have a feeling he may just not wake up one morning. Anyway, yesterday we were talking about Angie and I moving to L.A. He said how proud he was of me. That I was actually following my dreams and I'm going after what I want. He said that the other kids all stayed home and that there is nothing wrong with that, but they have never really experienced anything other than South Dakota. It was hard to keep it together when he said that. My dad isn't a very compassionate person. When he said that, it really got to me. Growing up I spent most of my time with my mom. She was the one who took me to basketball, baseball, football, drama, and band practices and camps. He would show up for some of the games or events, but not too much. So hearing him say how proud he was of me, it really got to me. For some reason it makes me want to get out there even more. I know even if I fail, I would have made both of my parents proud.
-Oh yeah, as a follow up to my last post, after Angie told me about the band Hawk Nelson I purchased there CD. This was about 30 hours after first hearing about them. Something I usually don't do, but it is an awesome CD. I suggest you pick it up.

-Their name is Hawk Nelson, a band that hails from a suburb of Ontario, Canada. Their debut CD, “Letters To The President”, was just released. Their sound is that of Good Charlotte and Blink 182. Every song on the disc is about making your dreams come true. My favorite song is “California” for obvious reasons. You can actually listen to the entire CD online at: http://www.hawknelson.com. But I see this CD making it to my collection.

-These past few days I’ve been a little “weird”. My wife commented on it last night. At the time I didn’t think anything of it and thought she was just imagining things. But when I woke up this morning, I think she is right, something is up. She is very good at reading me. I’m going to need to dig deep inside myself to find out what it is. I’m going to ask God to help me out on this one. I feel so closed up inside myself. I feel like I’m holding back on something. There is something that wants to get out. With God and my loving wife I know that everything will be alright.

I have to do more investigating. To get my foot in the door I have to take a step first. I'm also checking out acting coaches and schools. I hope to have a lot of information by next Spring. One of my favorite shows, "Unscripted" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0413616/, was cancelled. It was a show about three actors trying to make it in Hollywood. They would go to auditions and acting classes. It was staged like a reality show, since reality shows are the big thing now. Maybe it'll come out on DVD.

-Currently I'm staring in the film "Kitty Cats & Exit Signs". It is a film that I also wrote, directed, and produced with Chad Bring. We are hoping for a release date of January '06. Filming should wrap up at the end of July. I think I'll try to get into a play this fall. I want to keep acting as much as possible.

A new beginning...

For the people who have read my blog you might have noticed that I've deleted all of my previous posts. I'm changing my purpose of having a blog. Nobody is interested in what I do on a daily basis. Let's face it, my days are generally boring. So I'm using this blog as a way to display my goals in life and how I go about achieving them. I've listed my goals and will only blog when I have taken a step toward getting to that direction in my life I think God is pointing me to. So as my first post, here are my goals I will blog about:

-I see my wife, Angie, and I raising a family made up of two kids.
-I see us raising our two kids in southern California.
-To be a working actor living in L.A. (if not, at least in the entertainment biz)
-Reach my goal weight of 180lbs.
-Possibly own my bisiness someday. (Either a production company or a movie theater)
-Travel and be more culteral diverse (as well as my wife and childeren)
-Be a Godly influence on my family and follow His plan.

These are just some of the goals I want to achieve. Only time, and hard work, will see me through it.
